if you want to convert a 240 to turbo then this is the car to use. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1993-VOLVO-240-TORSLANDA-RED-LPG-Converted-/160621040440?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2565c29338its a post 1990 car and that means its running on the later Bosch LH 2.4 jetronic efi. Its the same system used for the later 940 turbo cars, ie, you can slap a turbo manifold and turbo off any rwd volvo on it and plug in some turbo ecus, its the easiest way of doing it. (you'll need to drill the boss in the engine block to fit a turbo oil return pipe) The only downside of this car is that its a 2.0L and not a 2.3L, Though some would say its not of mucvh consiquence as the ports/valves etc are the same as a 2.3 so its just a matter of more boost + fuel for more power. one other upside is Most or all Torslandas have an LSD. (AFAIK) The factory fuel injectors /ecu maps / turbo efficency runs out at 12-14 psi with a 940 intercooler. but that plenty to start with seeing as factorty boost is 4-7 psi

if you can get a 760 turbo they were the fastest out of the factory.
plenty of later 940s were turbos, the later the better really but only minor changes through the years.

yup, you have to pay quite a bit more for a tidy camper than the same tidy van (most of the time) a nicely fitted out camper not an easy thing to do on the drive.

If you get a bedford I'd aim for the CF2, they have front disc brakes and bigger more powerful, up to date engines than the CF (still old fashioned though).

Turbobricks is a good community, or at least it was when I used to go there, though I did notice there were quite a few young cocks who thought they were clever and were quite often rude but there were also some really cool people.
turbobricks had a vibrant off topic section which allowed people to chat outside the subject of volvos which allowed the users to get to know know one another a bit better.
BTW, I've noticed a food theme here.
We have butter, jam and melted cheese, now all were need is some toast and a cup of tea.
I learnt a lot about cars and tuning there.

Just make sure you clean out the PCV box and pipes (under the inlet manifold) it might be worth buying a new PCV box they're only about 20 quid and they do get very crudded up

what he said /\ Turbos are either garrett t25 or mitsubishi 13c. You can use the turbo off a 760 which is slightly larger than the 940 turbos though you'll need to open out the port in the exhaust to turbo flange as the port is a major restriction otherwise. Intercooler is a big easy improvement. you can squeeze a blackstone intercooler (from a ford eurocargo). I've had a couple of volvo turbos. the first one was a 940 the second was a 240 with a 940 engine. Superb cars and rock hard mechanicals. 940 2.3, 140,000 miles. 0-60 6.5. top speed 140 mph. T3 turbo fuel and spark ecus chipped. truck IC mbc set to 14 psi. polished 531 cylinder head. www.youtube.com/user/suterman100?feature=mhee#p/u/2/WYM2nAPKJHwEventually, this happened. It was due to my dodgy built turbo oil return pipe that got a bit hot and leaked. www.youtube.com/user/suterman100?feature=mhee#p/u/1/BKVNre0URnQNext up was this 240. Brand new rebuilt B230fk T3 turbo Stock IC Stock ECUs Boost raised to 10psi 40mm lowing springs Bilstein HD shocks Polybushed all round 225 profile tyres on galaxy wheels. www.youtube.com/user/suterman100?feature=mhee#p/u/4/nUxdY56hEmI (video taken with car loaded up with parts from the scrappy so I was taking it careful on the bends) Not so much of a performer as the 940 but it was a good base for power upgrades. I sold it in the end as I was tending to drive too fast all the time, got stopped by the police once for racing a bike and had a few dodgy moments. (regretted it ever since)

The panels are all flat so any repairs would be easy (easier than curved panels) If you were feeling brave and you needed to it wouldn't be beyond the realm of the real world to make up some dies to press the little strengthening relief's into your new panels sections.

This thread will be locked, regardless of any retro pics that get posted. It couldn't be futher off-topic. I should prob introduce myself properly first but: Didn't celebrating americans look a lot like ignorant, dirty, terrorist arabs? Not trying to enhance a pointless discussion, just observing... Thats just inflammatory, and totally uncalled for. IBTL What and saying rot in hell you POS isn't inflammatory? I just hope the new world order doesn't decide to "bring to justice" anyone you know in the future.

I see there is a bit of worry here.
The thing is FIVA is a car club run by a bunch of old dudes who don't like to see their precious stuff being messed with. They're not interested in our old guff.
A car club cannot make anyone do anything.
A charter (like this Turin charter) is only enforceable if (quoting wikipedia)
".......the granter retains superiority (or sovereignty), and that the recipient admits a limited (or inferior) status within the relationship"
So as long as you we don't voluntarily submit to agree to follow the charter it is not enforceable.
Besides which they shoot themselves in the foot with article 4
Article 4 Socially acceptable and mutually beneficial forms of public use have always contributed towards the preservation of historic vehicles. Therefore it is important and desirable that they should be used. However, in order to use them, historic vehicles should not be modified more than strictly necessary. Such modifications should interfere as little as possible with the historic substance of the vehicles, they should not alter the vehicle’s appearance and they should be completely reversible.
Using the word "socially" meaning within their "society" or club restrict their charter to their club members only
Its just a car club
