I went on a course for Xenon lamps many years ago and was told that dirt on the lense can scatter the HID beam and dazzle other users, hence the need for washers.... However when I pointed out that maybe a load of water squirted onto the lense may act as a prism and be more of a dazzle problem, the tutor didn't have an answer.... Washers and wipers I can understand, but just washers is a waste of time. I was going to suggest the Osram Nightbreaker bulbs along with a yellow film on the lense, but these films are soon to be an MOT failure too.... doesn't matter for the OP since he's in the Netherlands, but why will films on lenses be a fail?

New cars are built with them self levelling, with washers for them and with appropriate beam pattern They also look absolutely gash. I think your problem is wanting yellow and a decent output.. I'm with Mk2Cossie on this. Relay them with appropriate wiring so there you are losing as little voltage as possible. It should make a fair difference. The other really simple thing is to thoroughly clean the lights inside and out.

Have you checked the list of clubs that are able to confirm age to DVLA?
EDIT: That link isn't working. I just googled dvla V765 club and the document with the complete list of clubs able to countersign the application was the first link

I've not seen it done with WD40 but I don't doubt it'd work. I wouldn't fancy oily deposits on my rubber though Normally done with cheap aerosols such as hairspray. It doesn't matter hugely what as it's the propellant that is explosive. It's as dangerous as setting fire to an airborne flamable in an enclosed space If you do it wrong, you could take varying levels of hair/skin/pride off of your arms.

Congrats dbizzle. Seriously, I've got huge respest to those having kids in these times! How do you all do it (financially and logistically I mean lol). We talked about it but it's just not financially possible at the moment and what with the in-laws living in another country does'nt help matters! Maybe one day!!! I'm told that the finances and logistics of it just get made to work. There's simply no other option. I'll let you know come February ;D

I looked at Adams gas over the summer but as there was no agent close to me it was too much hassle with couriers etc. BOC was considerably cheaper than air products though Budget I guess up to £400? Stretch it to a Portamig............... I thought it was all hype when I joined the mig welding forum with an SIP 170 that was a crock of stuff that I needed help and advice to make into something less of a crock of stuff - I did all I could but it still wasn't that good so I sold my soul to the devil and bought a portamig - wow what a difference...... You'll have something which will last a lifetime I can only echo this.. I pushed my budget from £300 to nearly £600.. I think the 180 amp portamig is about £550? Well worth every penny. I've had cheap welders in the past and struggled through, but after using Bruce's Portamig, I wouldn't settle for anything less. They're handmade to order by Northerners and the quality is fantastic. Weldequip have an excellent reputation, but I found him to be a right grumpy on the phone. migtigarc in Portsmouth sell the same machines branded as MTA and I found them much more pleasant to deal with. Mr Weldequip prob just got up on the wrong side of the bed that morning

Sorry Ben, didn't realise that was yours (it was already on the pile in my defence ) I'll remove it and put it to one side for you. I like your thinking if they don't sell....maybe see if more of the A52 guys will be willing to take approx 15 each with them and list them. A job shared and all that. ;D If they're still there for Oct playday then I'm sure most of the regulars will be happy to take them on to sell. My offer extends to duplicates in the magazine rack too

yes and no. kangoos use a coded pump. youd need to change the pump, ecu, key and transponder all together for another matched set. but afaik, they only came with lucas pumps. No personal experience, but from what I've read when looking at doing this on a different engine (XUD), you'd need to swap the injectors too.

I had a go at one of those cheapy wines using ribena or similar a few months ago.. it failed but I left it in the demijohn. I had a sniff today and it struck me as being much closer to tolerable... I had a taste and it's gone from drain fodder to 'I'm happy to drink this at home but I wouldn't offer it to friends'. Going to campden and sorbate it, bottle it and hope that it's improved a bit more in a couple months ;D
Patience appears to be crucial, even with the quick stuff...
