congrats dude, got a 17 week boy here, absolutely the best thing thats ever happened to me. when you start getting stuff together, i recommend the following as being worth their weight in gold brights starts battery powered swing, ace for sending them off to nap time, bit like this www.brightstarts.com/p-213-ingenuity-portable-swing.aspx fisher price jumperoo, ace for wearing them out when they get a bit bigger! www.amazon.co.uk/Fisher-Price-K7198-Rainforest-Jumperoo/dp/B000LXQVA4pop in washable nappies, yes its 300 quid (you should be able to get a grant thing from your local auth for using washables) plus we found ours for about 250, if you have a washing machine and you don't mind using it everyday, much nicer than filling the bin with disposables, and i think they are much nicer on his bum, no sore bits so far and finally, you don't need to spend the best part of a grand on a super duper pram/chair etc, we have a reasonably prices mamas and papas rubix www.mamasandpapas.com/range/rubix/5568/?cm_re=PushchairsAccessories-_-Pod1-_-Rubix which works with a cybex aton carseat, keep an eye on ebay because when they change the colours for "the next season" the old colours end up on ebay for muchos discount enjoy! |

Congrats Dan. I can safely say it is the most daunting thing to ever happen to me, but 9 weeks into fatherhood I can also it is the best.
Our little girl was born in St. Georges too.

Well done. It will be a big change to everything but worth it. I've got a 3 year old girl and 1 year old boy and seriously considering another.
Consider going to NCT sessions as particularly for the missus they're a good place to meet other mums and talk about stretch marks and heart burn, and then meet up afterwards and natter about the good and bad etc.
No-one likes to say it, but fortunately I was warned that the first 6 weeks will be hell. Just get past it and it keeps getting better.
