I'm about to show you something awesome. This incredible van was at the recent Meadowhall RR meet and started life as a bay window panel van. Of the features I noticed: opening bay window T-top roof over cabin custom circular seating in back lowered, but not on air (and he drove it in, which with Sheffield's roads is brave to say the least!) suicide front doors excellent hibiscus flower stencilling many windows a soundtrack. I wish the soundtrack it arrived with was attached to these pictures and that I'd written down what the owner said was powering it, sounded simply awesome. Understandably, he drew an instant crowd and I can happily say it's the most impressive custom vehicle I've seen at the meet ever. Some more pictures you say? Okay then. There's a couple more snaps on my blog, Perambulate No More which I shall be updating over the course of the month with more pics from the meet. As Slacker kindly linked, there's a build thread on this wunderbus over here: www.volkszone.com/VZi/showthread.php?t=495753

WOAH!!! I was saying at The Gathering to someone (or many people!?) that it was a shame that the VW scene didn't build stuff as bonkers and out there as the old Thump Thump cars any more... this is Bang On! for me. Awesome work.
If anyone knows the owner, tell them I love them.

I've got much love for that. Many, many lovely details that make it so special. Is that a frenched fuel filler? Does anyone knows the owner? See if you can cajole them into coming to the Leeds HotRod meet this weekend so I can have a proper look The owner needs to be on here.

That is a seriously nice bit of work. Lose the bumpers, the flowers and the modern front lights and it's gets the full ja wohl herr kommandant from me

I saw that a couple of years ago at a show, may have been last year, can't remember the show, it was unfinished at the time. Still looked bonkers tho.

They aren't barn doors, they're cargo doors (from the side) fitted to the rear! Loads of nice touches to that - SO MANY hours have been sunk into that bus!!

Hang on. I just noticed the rear doors. None ever came like that did they?! So many cool touches. no barn door rears fitted and also the rear corner windows and safari front window A lot of Brazilian bays had 15 window splitty rear ends with those corner windows but weather that one started out like that is a different matter! As for the rear doors, they look like splitty side doors, or atleast started out as splitty side doors! I'm guessing that guy likes to weld!

Any ideas what running gear is underneath it? I guess by the clap doors at the back (side doors off a spltty?) it's mid engined? A big V8? Separate chassis off something else perhaps? Must have been lots of work gone into that.
