I like it too, must of missed it before now. I like the plans you have for it, nice clean and simple. Too many half decent cars on here get slammed and fitted with wheels which are massively wide and then have the arches butchered to make them fit. Shame. Any pics of it since it's been cleaned up?

Another thumbs up for Bilt Hamber. Far better than the Kurust stuff I used once.

You need to buy proper paint stripping discs that go on an angle grinder. You can also get smaller ones that fit in a pistol drill for tighter areas. They work really well and don't sand down or mark the base metal like a flap disc does. Check ebay for them, being a computer div I don't know how to put up a direct link for you, sorry!

That is mighty fine and as you say very rare. Not feeling the brown colour below the bump strips, has that been painted on or is it original? The interior looks to be very tidy which is a bonus. What sort of mileage has this done? Good luck with it.

Nice, yet another Viva on here! Don't bother with the Manta CIH engine, it's a right old boat anchor and only gives 110 bhp with injection and 10 less in carb form. I agree with owen and B-8-D, the Carlton 8V engine is the one to go for if you're gonna stick with a Vauxhall unit. Good luck with it mate, keep us posted.

end of day cant see any oil pressure issues as oil is a hydraulic substance and cant be compressed, so 40psi going in one end is going to be 40psi coming out the other end no matter how big or far it has to travel, sounds a good plan for getting your oil cool in a limited space to me !! Thanks Nick, that does make sense when you put it like that. Appreciate the input guys.

Sorry to bump this up so soon, but has anyone else got any input on me doing this, in particular to potential oil pressure issues? Thanks in advance, Richard.

If you have the coolers then no problem, quite a common thing for people do do in limited space, even manufactures will run 2 in line sometimes, but you can buy the right thing for less than 2 of the wrong ones Thanks for the replies. Regarding the above, I don't have the coolers yet. The problem I have is lack of space, there is no where to put a normal width 16 or 19 row cooler. Even a narrow width one would be tight and then I would be loosing out on oil capacity and surface cooling area. The only real space I have available is behind the front valance but this is only about 100mm deep, hence my idea of using two 10 row coolers coupled together end on end. Obviously I'd hole punch/flare the valance to allow for airflow. I can get a couple of new 10 row coolers for under £60.

Ideally I need to use a 16 or 19 row oil cooler on my car. Due to lack of space (height) I was thinking of using a pair of 10 row coolers end to end and linking them together effectively making one long but shallow oil cooler. So, oil in to first cooler then out directly into second cooler and then return to oil take off plate. Any reasons I shouldn't do this?
Thanks in advance, Richard

People are going to be tired of my updates soon! Prab Not me prab, it's great to see this improving. Do you think the window motors are tired or is the mechanism worn or bent? Deffo get those covers changed over onto your existing seats, it's a luxobarge and needs to have as many gadget buttons working as possible. Also, does the (I assume electric) sunroof all work as it should now? Good luck prab, keep at it.

Absolute definition of a British 'retro' car. A brilliant mix of old and new and done with such attention to detail and finish. The Minor might be a 'common' base car to play about with but it doesn't get any better than this. I'm with seth on that. A perfect example in every respect. Give yourself a big pat on the back Dan.

Looks brilliant in it's new paint, it's a great colour combo that really suits the car. Superb job. Please loose the chocolate blocks on the dash wiring though! They're horrid and this Mini deserves the best!

You've really turned this around froggy, superb work mate. The addition of a quick rack and engine conversion will make this a superb camper. Even better that it's being done on a sensible budget.

Hi cheddarcheese, I know of your Polo addiction from PoloG40 club. Really sorry to hear about your Mum, Cancer is a real curse word. On a brighter note, a Derby purchased without the need for bumpers, arch and sill repair sections could mean a bit of Berg Cup look going on? I do hope so! Cheers, Richard.
Ah, should of read your edited post re the arches! Will still look awesome.

You could have given the washer bottle a scrub. Looks disgusting! Nice tidy XE install, personally I'd colour code the strut brace and power cap though for a more subtle look. Very nice mate, keep us updated.

Hi and welcome to RR. That has cleaned up really nicely, a massive improvement. Apart from the polishing and lowering the removal of those awful "Match" stickers has made such a difference. I agree with crazymonkey, these are so much nicer kept simple.
