Well I got this car last year in standard form brought a gti mated the lump to a suzuki sj413 gearbox as I had modded one in the past to take a1.5d pug lump. I could have used the sj clutch but it was only 180mm so I got a hybrid 200mm clutch made then started removing the tens engine to cut a long story short hers the engine in the hole running the gti remapped ecu and all the injection, the lumps cam'd ported and compression up'd. Also has 4 branch and a custom stainless side exit system and here it is done on the road all lowered and it goes like a beast

I was told by old owner the lumps ment to be 150bhp, and it goes like it is, spins the 165s up in 3rd quite easy and suprises all the modern day motors when they try and pass me

Super Ten indeed! Pug engine looks a bit of a squeeze in there.

It was, alot of cutting and tweaking involved, altho only 6 months from start to finish. Ive left the body in the original flaky paint and standard wheels to be more of a suprise to people

As the Amuricans say, that looks oarsome. Especially loving the understated look on steelies. Do I spy a little rake too? I sincerely hope she's not running on the original drums under those wheels.. Tell us more!

It has the rake look that pics took with the kids in the back, it is on standard brakes at moment as I wanted to get some miles on it, the brakes are suprisingly good but will be uprated to mgf vented discs with the gti calipers and mgf rear discs on back with gti calipers. Its still on std back axle which was taking the power fine until the other day, old owner changed diff seal and stripped the nut then just put pin threw to hold it together. I didnt realise until there was a big bang and the prop came off smashing the diff and snapping a shaft, also damaged the tunnel. I collect the prop and the nut has no thread in it what so ever, there was no prop wobble or noises previous so can only put it down to that. She will be up and running again soon sticking its out

Excellent combo I think I'd definitely do something about the brakes ASAP though! Axles really aren't very strong so I can't see a standard replacement lasting long either.

usa boys run v8s threw them, Ive ran a diesel and the a guy on a zuke forum is tunning a 170bhp a4 quatro diesel threw one, so think there quite strong. At the moment theres loads about I have 2 in my garage one for my dads sj diesel conversion and one as a spare just incase. My old sj ran 33 inch tall tyres aswell so alot of strain on the running gear with no probs. They are a small box, the box was only a couple of inches longer than the tens 4 speed I will dig a pic out

Now this is my cup of tea! What a brilliant combo, get the axle and brakes sorted and this will be a complete sleeper. Fantastic.

Crumbs, the brakes are terrifying trying to stop one with 800cc, they must be actually useless in this. Looks incredibly cool though, it's amazing how many of these have been 'done' in the last few years and this is one of the best I've seen, despite the DECADENT LUXURY BOOTLID

I must be lucky witj my brakes then, the engines lighter than the old lump and Ive only been to 70mph in it and it stops fine from 70, prob get a wheel off this week and measure up to make front brackets up, its all good fun it defo accelerates quicker than it slows down. some old guy in a z4 couldnt overtake me he followed me home and ask what I had done to it, he said when he was a lad he had one as his first car and it took a down hill stretch to hit 70.

thats a genius conversion, 150bhp from the GTi engine would mean some mild work but some left the factory with 130bhp so filter/exhaust/manifold/ecu chip would add a lump of power
Loving it!!
