The escort is a keeper no doubt.
Interested why you need to sell either tho? Space, money?? Historics are so dirt cheap to own nowadays seems a shame to sell one for the sake of a couple of 100 a year.

They don't hurt the paint on the punch side but the die side might bruise it. Use the die on the underside.

Another vote for Qmax cutters. Hands down the best way to cut a neat hole in sheet metal.

What do you actually want to do with it? Dremels have thier use but think porting a chainsaw rather than porting a mini.
I have an original dremel with flexi attachment which is still going strong 25 years later. Not sure if modern ones have gone down hill or not tbh!

Can we ask questions about this here??
Have you decided on what regulations it will be run under? (Or if theres going to be any regulations at all?? 😂) If it's not run under the MSA or whatever they are calling themselves nowerdays will blue book rules still apply? If not what will?
Just need to know if the car is eligible or not.

Totally agree. Thier facebook group seems to be full of 'fan boys' who think it should be a wonder product. It's not.

I'd definitely go for a proper build. Do some digging on building regs as thats what you need to avoid. Planning is a necessity for large garages I think.
If you just need planning a set of simple drawings will suffice then you can have a word with a few builders about the best way to actually achieve it on the cheap. It rarely makes economic sense to do you're own brick work etc especially if it's just blocks but you can save alot doing smaller jobs where your skills permit!

Why would anyone not get an annual MOT? Isn’t it a peace of mind thing to get a fresh set of eyes looking over your vehicle, and also shows you insurance company that in the unfortunate event of a collision that you looked after your vehicle (if only to a minimal standard) Nope. I don't need other sets of eyes on my vehicles, especially when it's some brain dead MOT mong scamming me out of 50+quid for the privilege. The time saved alone is worth its weight in gold. If you're not able (or too lazy 😂) to keep check on your own vehicles yourself then by all means pay a professional to do it for you but you don't want an MOT you want a proper service and safety check where they arnt bound by silly MOT rules and you want it more than once a year if it's in daily service too. The MOT has become a joke. Just another corrupt box ticking exercise where all you need to pass is a few £20 notes. I agree we should be enforcing people looking after their vehicles but that needs to be done by roadside spot checks by the government..

The v112 is what you would use to declare your vehicle conforms to MOT exemption rules when taxing at the post office. It's the same as ticking the declaration box when you tax an historic vehicle online. You should never have to send it to the DVLA unless you are trying to tax the vehicle.
The only time you have to declare MOT exemption is when you tax. The DVLA keeps no record of your vehicles MOT exemption status. Online you will only ever see 'MOT expired' never 'MOT Exempt' so don't worry about that.
Unfortunately theres a bit of a problem with the DVLA online system. It doesnt have a facility to allow you to tax an MOT exempt car that not registered as Historic. You will have to take it to a post office and fill in a v112 insted. I have come across this problem before with people using their 40+ year old vehicles for buisness purposes (hence needing to pay road tax) but still wishing to declare MOT exemption.

For the MOT theres nothing you need to do. As soon as its 40 years from when it was registered its exempt. Its not the same thing as historic tax class.

If your wanting to get the paint off them there no better option than getting them dipped. Even if you had them shot blasted they will dip them first to get the paint off.

No but you can save a bit by buying to 50L one. Same cfm which is all the really matters. Seems like a half decent compressor for the money. You wont get much more from a 13amp supply.

The problem with older rwd recovery trucks is usually that you go over on rear axle weight before you hit max gross weight.
More modern recovery trucks have lighter alloy bodies and alot are fwd and lighter overall now too.
I don't think you will have any problem carrying a rolling shell on either tho.

The problem isnt finding wheels that bolt on its finding wheels that go under the arches. You can fit 13inch with 175/50s or similar but they don't give you much clearance for lowering without putting arches on.
12s are the best bet for standard arches but you are very limited on tyres unfortunately.
