How much of a spacer does it need to be?
I can't imagine it'd be hard at all to make if it wasn't very thick (sub 10mm? I can't think of a reason why you'd bother if it was that slim though.
Can you weld to a reasonable standard? Wouldn't be hard to modify your boss so that it's longer/deeper assuming it's a steel one.
Failing that, I reckon the likes of Grunty or Dez could turn something suitable.

Not for the first time have I broke out the explaination of how ackerman steering or sequential turbos work whilst in the pub and ended up elbow deep in flange. Fixing someone's blowing exhaust because they've gone "Oh, you're a car person, could you have a look at my car? It's silver and it's incredibly noisy" ? Or have I misunderstood?

looks great but thats going to be a tricky one with the agency..... unaltered body – no points zetec with 5sp gearbox – no points rear independant sus with cossie slipper all coil over sus with discs all round fully ajustable suspension everywhere – possible one axle when you need both to count quick rack – no points you have to wonder if divorce means realised it's not going to be road legal Yeah, so who's a clever boy then? Anyone interested in modifying cars should know this without you bringing it to everyone's attention on the forum for someone else to pick up on and notify the authorities. What you trying to do - frighten people away from posting on here? Why not just stay stummm and enjoy the pics instead of trying to be a clever dick? If I bought it, then had the logbook taken off of me when it got to MOT time, I'd be pretty annoyed. A head in the sand attitude is the last thing we need and is the reason groups like The ACE are so important (and valued on this forum)

I don't really like it, but I'm glad I've seen it. It's good to know people are still building things like this; it's easy to assume from magazines and shows and t'internet and stuff that the old Ford scene is all about race and rally cars, RS replicas, South London look, straight-up restoration, etc. I tend to occupy a bit of a modified-car bubble so this is kind of interesting. I wouldn't though... Sums it up for me too. I love the concept of it, but dislike the way it looks (which is, of course, very much a subjective thing. I like old tat ), I love that he had the balls to build it and could visualise such an unlikely mix of parts and see it through, but I dislike the blatant flouting of the '8 point rule'... It's what I imagine both loving and hating marmite to be like

If you get someone at Halfords that know what they're doing, the cans are pretty good, if a tad expensive. But then you pay for being able to walk in at 19.50 on a friday night or on a Sunday afternoon. The page with the oil filter listing for a mk1 Fiesta was missing and the member of staff I asked couldn't find it on The System, therefore, it didn't exist. A couple minutes of common sense searching for a filter for other crossflow and crossflow derived engine'd car oil filters meant I was in and out in a few minutes happy in the knowledge that I'm clevererererer than the bloke in Bridgwater Halfords. I've forgotten my point. It was probably that Halfords is perfectly good if you know what you want and when getting paint mixed, the member of staff can operate a set of scales. It ain't rocket science

Stretch it to £500 and I reckon you'll have far more luck. Metrocab£300 max dude, otherwise it'd be easy Does the cost of collecting/insuring/taxing/fuel economy not give some bargaining room on the £300, or is it purely a self imposed challenge?

Wilkinsons seem to work out cheapest for stuff like airlocks and CROWN caps, tubs of yeast.. They sell campden tablets, potassium sorbate, finings etc. but don't seem to be as cheap for those. Convenient though Must remember to use my camera and actually show what I'm doing. Loads of stuff in primary at the moment and WOW is clearing really quick.

I've just bought a new car, so I don't want to think what I'm going to replace it with as that usually ends in me changing it again. Sierra-something else-Sierra-something else-Sierra.....

I enjoy seeing the Fester on my way home, but a Fairway queuing past Stockmoor of an evening should be an even bigger treat. Especially if you do some fettling . . . I feel like I'm being stalked ;D I've spotted the Open Bottles one (and am quite pleased to see that they've reopened; they used to be on Taunton Road and were an AMAZING offy selling mostly proper beer and cider from the barrel. I once asked for two litres of a cider and he wouldn't sell it to me until I asked for it in pints ;D ). I have a funny feeling it may be the same one that was for sale a few months ago in Glastonbury. I went and had a look around that one. It's not a new scratch I'm looking to itch. What are you driving when you spot me trying to stop my car from overheating on my last mile of journey home? A RWD Ford of some sort. I don't care what Budget stretches to finding reverse gear on the Fiesta in that case

the fairway in the last couple of pics looks so evil, I love it. but if you ran it more standard looking then i'm sure the novelty of people trying to hail you/ asking for a lift would wear off pretty quick. how about an old american barge limo? but I guess thats a bit overkill. I live in rural Somerset where there are next to none.. I don't reckon it'd get hailed too much.. Ignore its primary function. I love the styling, the size, the seating arrangement, the separate chassis construction, the fact it's got a big unstressed diesel engine.

This thread may end up being rubbish, but we'll have a bash I've been pondering the fact that my Fiesta doesn't really have much that I look for in a car, or much that I will soon be looking for in a car. I want something bigger. I want something with more doors I want something with more classic styling I want something with a more traditional method of construction Could be any big old car but I've had my eye on these for far too long.. A Carbodies Fairway/Fairway Driver And we all know this one.. Something to aspire to What's your next car going to be?

I had to wikipedia Kool Aid..
Fruit Smack sounds brilliant ;D So it's basically powdered fruit cordial/squash?
I have no idea what the actual definition is, but in my mind, an alcopop is 4-6% and quite sweet. Brewing to 5-6, stabilising and back sweetening sounds a good plan to me. Some things just don't taste right with the extra alcohol 'heat'. But if you've got some spare to experiment...
