I am currently after a couple of spray cans of harvest gold for my maxi, paint code blvc19. I have trawled the internet to try and find some to no avail, and have literally no idea where to get it. I would try halfords but I had some paint made for a jaguar x300 there once and it was completely the wrong shade, then I went there yesterday to ask for an oil filter for an 'Austin maxi' and I get asked 'is that a Nissan?' doesnt exactly inspire you with confidence. So here is my question: where can I get some harvest gold paint from a reliable source, either local in Devon or somewhere that will post it?

Have a look in your local yellow pages for paint and body supplies. No doubt theres a place near you. My local one is really good and the cans they do are good quality, really easy to spray with ect.

I've seen the Paints4u stuff recommended a few times, though their website doesn't inspire confidence...

If you get someone at Halfords that know what they're doing, the cans are pretty good, if a tad expensive. But then you pay for being able to walk in at 19.50 on a friday night or on a Sunday afternoon. The page with the oil filter listing for a mk1 Fiesta was missing and the member of staff I asked couldn't find it on The System, therefore, it didn't exist. A couple minutes of common sense searching for a filter for other crossflow and crossflow derived engine'd car oil filters meant I was in and out in a few minutes happy in the knowledge that I'm clevererererer than the bloke in Bridgwater Halfords. I've forgotten my point. It was probably that Halfords is perfectly good if you know what you want and when getting paint mixed, the member of staff can operate a set of scales. It ain't rocket science

I've had a look at what they offer & in a flat colour you could have 1K (they call it converted 2K), Cellulose & enamel. What are the advantages and disadvantages of enamel? I always thought it was a brittle type of paint but then rustoleum is an enamel & people seem happy with that. Ta

Update on this. Hex holdings has gone into administration. I have ended up using Auto-paint.co.uk as they seemed to be the cheapest (until they added the tax at the end, I hate it when companies do that) I will let you all know how the paint is when it arrives.
