There was a guy looking to make some of these but I had a chat, and he reckons it would need to be cast due to the starter motor mounting.
If your guy is confident it'll work I'll put a deposit down.

Does it have any brakes other than the calipers that are inside the car?

I would use a 12.9 for sake of 50p or so.
Do you have a local fixings and fasteners supplier?

I'm selling my polo- It's a 1983 Coupe on an old Y reg. Mileage is 167k. The engine is the old style mechanical lifter 1.3, and has a new headgasket, skimmed and rebuilt head, new cambelt, rebuilt carb. The fuel tank has been removed and professionally cleaned inside, and re installed with all new fuel lines and breathers. The car has 14" G40 wheels with brand new tyres all round. Obviously the car is 33 years old and body work reflects this- there are dents, dinks and scratches. it is, however, remarkably rust free. The interior is pretty tidy but the seats do have some wear. It has 11 months MOT. Please message me on here with any questions Thanks

I've searched and searched and can't see to find an answer to my question-
Should my direct debit tax payment be automatically canceled when the new owner taxes the vehicle?
Just had a payment go through for a car I sold a few months ago.
Thanks

Forgot about this!
Car isn't quite on the road yet but I've made loads of progress- engine is in and running, interior is nearly done, brakes and suspension are all finished off.
Now it just needs seat mounts, an alternator and paint.
Shall I put some pics up?

Evening,
I Recently bought a Mk2 polo that had been sat for a good few years. It took a bit to get it running, namely cleaning out the inlet fitting of the carb, which was completely solid with dirt.
Following this, I emptied the tank, remove the fuel gauge sender and used the hole to wipe out the bottom of the tank. It wasn't ridiculously dirt but there was some grit in there. I replaced the rubber hoses in the engine bay and added two inline filters, one before the mechanical pump and one after.
The car ran fine, but after a few miles it would cut out. The pre-pump filter that i had installed had gained a lot of dirt, and replacing the filter solved the problem. It did it again today, and upon swapping the filter, fuel shot out of the supply hose very quickly.
Removing the fuel cap gave a HUGE hiss, and suddenly the fuel stopped pouring out of the fuel supply hose in the engine bay. I had thought that replacing the filter was solving the issue, but it would seem that perhaps just the action of removing and replacing the filter was releasing Vacuum, allowing the car to run again for a few miles.
What would be causing this? And would this be the cause of the fuel starvation? At first I thought that surely the fuel shooting out of the supply hose couldn't possibly allow fuel starvation, but I suppose the fuel could be running back down the return line so quickly that it's drawing it back out of the float bowl on it's way back?
Any help would be great.
Thanks

I've changed the coolant atleast once in all 12 of my Polo's and never had to do anything more than run the car with the heater on full, with the heater matrix bleed screw undone until no air comes out.
I would suspect a worn water pump (I once removed one with no impellers left at all).

Evening,
I have a VDO wideband AFR gauge. It has 4 wires- +12v, Ground, Dimmer (to be wired onto the headlight switch) and a 0-5v sensor input.
My question is, can I make this work with a universal wideband sensor, or do i need some kind of controller?
I'm hoping a Wideband 0-5v sensor will literally just give an output ranging between 0v and 5v depending on running condition, which can be inputted to the gauge.
Thanks in advance

Evening,
I recently took the fuel tank out of my Humber sceptre and cleaned it all out, as it was full of some sort of coating that had started to dissolve.
I put it all back together, fill up with 2 gallons but the gauge read 3 gallons. I put 2 more in and it reads 7!
I was careful not to bend the sender float, and my thoughts are that even if I did, it would over read fairly consistently? Rather than becoming more and more inaccurate as the fuel level increases.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
