What else could be used as a medium? I was wondering this too. I'd assume any kind of fine powder really. I'd also suggest doing it into a bucket or something, so you could collect all the bi-carb back up, sieve it and use it again.

Oooh I like this thread. Used to park stupidly on purpose when I was at college. Not to get back at other people who had parked badly, but to get at the college themselves for building such a rediculous car park. However, we used to get people putting motorbikes in car spaces, so we'd retalliate by parking over 5 bike bays. There was a section that had a line of bike bays, then a bit of pavement and then about 10 more bike ones. Freinds used to parkin the longer line of ten (maybe more) so I'd just swing in behind, over the pavement and flowerbed and park stupidly on purpose because the whole site was badly thought out. In fact, the Bluebird didn't properly fit in the bays. Heres a pic of my battered old 106 parked underneath the ramp for the two story bit. Was marked out as not being a viable space, but you could get two cars there. The Corsa belonged to my friend.

Used to be on near my secondary school. Could only ever see the back of it and I thought for a long time that it was a Trabant. Look like a giggle anyway

Anything by Zil. Multifuel engines, will literally run on a mix of anything. I seem to remember someone somewhere putting a mix of Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene and god knows what else into a Zil 131. Ran fine. Smokey though...

Cheers for all of the replies guys.
Understandable about the banger racers looking, however, the bit that makes it REALLY suspicious is the fact that we are the very last house at the end of a tucked away cul-de-sac. Most people don't even know our street exists. Which brings the question as to how he knew my car was down there. Its not like it was some guy just passing, you can't pass our house, and if you did, you'd go through a wall and end up in someones garden.
What I got from my mum, was that he'd asked who's it was, which she'd told him and then if it was for sale. Got the answer of no, he then pointed out that it was out of tax, so she told him it was getting taxed today (which it was, and now has) he then asked if it would be for sale after that, so she told him no again.
If it does get get nicked, I'm not sure I could afford to get another car, and I can't afford to lose my 2 years NCB (I'm only 21).
Cars boxed in on the drive behind parents car anyway.

Some bloke this morning knocked on the door, and my mum answered it. He was enquiring as to whether the car out front (mine) was for sale. My mum told him no, and he went away, she then came in to tell me about it which caused me to jump out bed and have look out of the window to see a rather tatty Transit pulling away. And we all know what sort of people drive tatty Tranny's and ask about old cars for sale. Should I be worried? I've heard stories about such things and then they go and nick the car anyway. What would anyone want with a slighty dented 20 year old Bluebird anyway? Have some pics anyway. Dunno how many to garnish you with, bit like sending a big parcel and how many stamps to put on. These are all taken by me anyway, no Google-fu today. Cheers for looking anyways ~Matt~

Rottie: Was the vehicle in question in a bad condition? I'd reckon they just found the view offensive, but couldn't do anything about that, so pulled you up on the tax thing.
I bloody hate curtain twitchers like this.
Luckily enough I'm at the end of a cul-de-sac (parents house, but irrelevent) with the front of our house facing the side of another, with a big sweeping curve to signify the end of the road, which is where I park. No-ones ever bothered about me fiddling about in the street with bits of car scattered over our lawn. In fact, the most bother I get is a cheery wave from a neighbour.
Plus use of the driveway, which starts off single width (two car lengths), and goes out to a double garage. so can get 4 cars there.
That was long winded for nothing..

Oh THAT Chevy. Bloody gorgeous car!
Saw it a few years back at Pickering. Took quite a few pics too actually.
Loved that episode, Nice to see stuff you know on telly since I've grown up one trips to Whitby and Scarborough, and indeed have driven myself on those roads seen in the program.

what the f**k is that? never seen one of those before, looks proper space age love it ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Herrod is only 21 years old.... so totally excusable. Go GOOGLE Sinclair C5 it has nothing to do with my Sinclair Oil corporation. Old age, we have it, and have seen some stuff Oi, I'm 21 and I have wanted a C5 since I was little! Used to be one in thrifty/bargain/jumblejunk store here, always wanted one after seeing it. Could you not fit a washing machine motor? Agree on lithium batteries. I dunno what the original batteries are (Weren't they off a motorbike?) but lithiums should give you better charge I'd have thought.

Yea an inch or two can make all the difference Thats what she said! I've always used an old scrap of carpet, its a fair enough size, stops the pain of a gravel driveway (and losing nuts and bolts in said gravel) just the right amount of cushioning on any surface really.

Bluebird in the snow. The mud is a result of getting stuck in the muddy mess in the top right of the pic.

What got me, was the numpties who hadn't bothered to get any snow off their cars except the front and back windows.
All I got today was snow flying off peoples cars towards me and big chunks splatting against the road.
I also wished for rwd today, been having a play you see and fwd just ain't as fun.
Though I did get stuck in a big muddy mess of wheelspinnage when trying to turn around in a feild gate XD

Though its been called "The Bluebarge of fail" a few times recently due to cold weather and choke/idling related engine cut outs.

I'd offer up my Bluebird ('89 F) but as it would only be one year old back then it'd look out of place in its current condition (near side sill is stoved in along with door dents)
