This is my Bongo for sale.
For those not familar with these vehicles, they are a JDM only little camper, and thus this is an import but I beleive it's been in the UK for quite a while.
2.5 ltr TDi
4 speed auto with 'hold' function
4WD !
Power steering
Electric wingmirrors (with power folding function)
Registered as a 7 seater but I don't have the rearmost seats. These can be added should you wish. Currently 5 seater. Bench seat goes from touching front seats to all the way to touch the bootlid if you wish.
Electrically lifting poptop tent roof. Bongos party piece. Allows inner roof to be lifted for standing room, or down to create upstairs bedroom (this vehicle does sleep 4!). Canvas is unzippable to see out or just have mesh for airflow.
4 electric blinds on the rear side windows, each with its own switch or controlled left/right switches from drivers seat.
Electric windows
Central locking
The following is copied from my advert that I wrote out for the Bongo group on Facebook, some items may be repeated from the above.
Approx 123,500 km (maybe a mix of miles and kilometres, seems to have been recorded as both over the years)
This started off with the intention of camping use but circumstance changes and I can no longer financially carry on this route.
I have done and had done a number of repairs and rectifications to the vehicle over the course of the year, some of it MOT work and some to tidy up previous owners work.
When I got it, it had a rear kitchen fitted across the back which I didn't want and it was of poor quality. This has been removed but some marking does remain.
I have sourced and fitted a rear bench seat and this travels the length of the interior.
All seats fold flat to make a bed.
I have had two new tyres fitted to the rear and both front CV joints/driveshafts have been replaced as have lower arm ball joints.
If you are looking at this advert then you likely know that Bongos are imports and are not undersealed/protected in the same way that a UK market vehicle is and do suffer from corrosion.
As such it has had a new front crossmember fitted and some inner sill work.
There was also work required near the towbar mounting and this has also been done.
With mention of the towbar, it will need rewiring as it turns out that none of it is electrically connected. I was never going to tow with it, at most I would have used it for a bike carrier so this never concerned me.
The arches do have some blemishes as Bongos seem to tend to do but this is a 27 year old imported vehicle.
Everything works, some is a little tired but all the features are in working order.
The roof raises electrically but does suffer from tired gas struts so the last few inches just needs some support to help lock in place (a common problem it would seem)
All four rear blinds are electrically operated and all function as intended.
The cab windows are electric and working, as are all functions of the electric wing mirrors which also have power folding feature.
Power steering is wonderfully light, it's only a little van so it's very easy to maneuver and goes lock to lock with no issues.
It has a 4speed automatic gearbox which goes through the gears fine, gearbox needs to be warmed a little before 4th will be engaged, this is apparently a safety feature.
It's not going to be winning any races, it's not designed to be fast, but it'll happily sit between 60-70mph on a motorway or dual carriageway just as well as well as it'll run around town as a normal car/MPV.
The best way to describe this is;
Come and get a quirky camper/lifestyle vehicle, and fit it out how you want whilst the weather is poor and get a headstart on the camping season next year.
The 4WD system seemed to not notice the muddy wet field it went in, so ideal for campsites where other may not reach.
Happy to answer questions, I'm sure I've missed a million normal things (quite a Bongo specific advert, it behaves like any other car and I've just tried to list what I can)
Thank you for looking. Please ask any questions.
