Ah love a tidy 106.
I think the only place they really go is the boot on these? That's where mine has started to show the dreaded tin worm.

been there a fair few months... MOT out last year so fairly recent! Parked outside a Bed and Breakfast in bristol, offside rear door slightly open today.. i wonder ow many guests ask about it! I literally drove past this the other day and my mates were wondering why I was all excited over a Metro. Wonder if someone is in the process of getting it back sorted? Interesting colour choice on the wheels.

Nice old h/u and I'm a huge Denon fan, user, collector and hoarder I would imagine its an lcd an not an led display, don't think its as easy as de-soldering an led and re-soldering, i could be wrong but don't think so. Well worth opening the face up as due to its age it could be a dry joint or dislodged wire. If you cant get it to light up then you could send it out to Fullers as they are very good, very well priced and fantastic service. If you require any other Denon goods to go with her i may have some spare bits laying around. All the best. Thanks for your helpful reply, mate. Fullers ey? Have you got any details on them? I may consider that if I have no joy. Funny enough a guy in work has a lot of Denon goodies. I also have the DCH-470 CD changer and DCR-1000R CD player that he has sold me. I am hoping to get an amp to add to this as well. Cracking quality.

I recently got a Denon 670R that works really well par one problem. The problem is that the long rectangular panel on the front (which displays the tape and radio info) doesn't illuminate due to a bulb being gone. I had a look to see if I could simply change it. The front part pops off and I noticed there are small philips heads screws to take the facia apart to do this. However I don't want to break it or blow things up, so to speak. Is this is a simple fix once I get it apart or are we talking about opening up a 'jar of worms' as my old man would say? Pic for reference:

Unfortunately, this is the result of paying practically nothing for someone to wash your car. It isn't your fault, but it is a lesson learned...
Best to try and look for a local detailer and see what's a good price for you. That way you will be more than likely to get a pucka job, than have a mess left on your car like you have here.
The only time I ever think it's ok to use an automatic car wash or any sort of cheap car washes is if your car is literally a 'white good' to you.

I took my Fezz on a trip to Essex from South Wales, 4 hours and a bit to get there. First time on the M25, rush hour as well. Only trouble I probably caused was holding up people who were gawking or taking photos of the car haha!
Up and back it performed pretty well, it did not miss a beat at all. Although it did show it is a car not designed for long motorway trips! (I don't think I have ever seen an entire door card rattle so much that it looks as if it is going to take off!)
My 106 that I have had since I passed my test, has been very much reliable as well. Most of my non-car friends would always say I'd have trouble with it and I should get something 'new'. Yet, all these years on this has lasted longer than most of my peer's cars and used to be the car I'd go up to London or Santa Pod in nearly every weekend!

Any accessory from the 80s-90s made by Richbrook ? curse word air scoops , grills , fake carbon film etc . Any performance exhaust for a Vauxhall nova as they all point out at a odd angle . Peco exhausts ,especially the 4" versions on a 1.3 mk3 escort. Currently stickers are my bugbear - modern chav cars like astras with flowing italic text stickers on the windows usually relating to something being low .That and Nurburgring stickers ! One accessory [ not really ] i miss is the old REDEX you used to get to pour down your carb and then floor , filling the road up with smoke ! +1 'Dirty diesel' and 'because [insert car here'. Those two irritate me the most.

Other than my two cars, I haven't really drove much on the roads...other than in car parks having a go at mates cars.
I quite liked the B5 A4 Audi Quattro, which was the first boosted car I drove and was a nice, responsive car I thought. I never had a chance to really give it the 'beans' on the road, though. When I was learning to drive I found the MK4 Polo is a pleasant car, it did what needed to be done and felt quite tidy to drive around when I was a 'no0b'. Albeit very boring compared to what ended up becoming my first car (Peugeot 106). I did like the Mondeo ST220, that was another smooth car. I just felt it was a shame it couldn't be driven by the rear wheels, not the front.

Not to be an echo, but under DPA they shouldn't give anything out. If they were to do so, they'd be in deep doo, doo.

Easily one of my favourite threads on here and the car is looking superb. Shame that it had a bump, but glad to see it return to it's proper self.

When you say its "popped out" what do you mean exactly? If the cup has come out of the box then something is wrong as it should be "wedged in" by the TCA. If that is the case it should snap into the box with a decent shove. If the cv joint at either end has disintigrated you can either replace the joint using a pair of circlip pliers or replace the whole shaft. Any mk2 Fiesta shaft will work and mk4 Escort shafts can be made to fit by removing the inner dust cover from the reverse of the wheel bearing (not ideal but I know a few people who run like this.) 1.1 shafts are man enough for Zetec power with an open diff so don't worry about sourcing a 1.4 shaft or an xr2 shaft as they are rare and expensive respectively. Hope that's helpful A.J Cheers buddy, this helps a lot.

I had to do a temporary bodge when our daughter's exhaust fell of one dark wet night and all I had to hand was standard Isopon body filler. I stuck it back together with that and told her to bring it back next week and I'd weld it up. Nine months later the Isopon is still holding it together. I never realised it would take the heat to be honest but it's still rock solid. +1 This worked for the standard exhaust on my Fiesta when it rusted through, it held up for the MOT and didn't blow at all for months after.
