well, aside from mums bike I had my 11yr old pestering me for a RC car as his "mates" have £650 and £350 ones needless to say that wasnt going to happen, I explained to him I could get a cool ass vw for that money (he didnt see my logic sadly ) anyways a post on another forum led me to this, I know nothing about them at all but after a morning in my local model shop where i dropped onto a 20yr old ex RC racer he got the motor running and gave it a bit of general TLC. I got the whole package, car, radio gear and two batteries for £50 which now ive seen my lads reaction and the prices just the cars are fetching on ebay I'm well chuffed. two niggles though are, how can i extend the battery life so he can run the car for more than the "roughly 5-10 mins" at the mo. we're using 1 battery then changing to the other but can anyone recommend a better solution or is it just the industry standard so to speak that you only get 10 mins from a charge?? other thing is the little blue box in the car is very tempremental at the mo. it simply wont work one time the car is switched on the other times it does. is it worth changing this, if so whats it called ;D so I can look for a replacement on the net. I was warned these things become addictive and sure enough spent last night looking for different bodies and other "faster" mods already

well, the moped's been put on hold at the mo as ive no intention riding it in rubbish weather. my dear old mum asked me to find her a bike so she can go riding with the kids as well. quick search on ebay found me this, for the silly sum of £10 it was listed as both tyres flat but other than being dusty still seemed in good order. went and had a look and bought it there and then. i was disappointed because it still had the original raleigh whitewall tyres on, well cool but very very cracked and although they still worked it would only be after a ride or two they'd prob split totally (and I'm sure it'd be when my mums 5 miles from home) so another ebay search led me to hopkinsons cycles, bid on 2 x whitewall tyres, start bid of £5.99 for the pair and won them. result. total investment so far is £20 for a cool retro bike up and running. i intend to pinch another members idea of string/wire to clean the inside of the wheels. I think it came up pretty good after a wash and oil/grease where needed. only thing I cant figure is the gear lever on the handlebars, no matter if its in 1,2 or 3 the pedaling diesnt seem to get harder/easier??? ;D

we can all go on a miilion and one sites to look for a standard modern car, the fact this site sticks to old/retro/modified etc etc is why its cool, its kind of specific without taking itself too seriously........and for me the fact the mods are unpaid yet still run/alter/modify a damn cool site I think gives them the right to include or delete what they want..... and like has already been said if people don't like it the world wide web is a BIG place, move on elsewhere
and btw that pissrat is a fecking cool motor GLWS
