It's too tight to get in with a hacksaw. Even a grinder is a struggle, unless I go in with the grinding wheel at 90 degrees to the nut. I like the nut splitter idea.
***just got home from work and had a go with the grinder, making sure any sparks are away from the tank and fuel lines. I managed to get the back box and the mid section off. I just need to continue tomorrow and finish cutting the bolts where the remains of the mid section meet the cat. It hard work on the drive way though.

The exhaust on my celica has rotted through, I just bought a 2nd hand stainless cat back pipe at the weekend. I tried to remove the old one where it bolts to the cat but the old nuts and bolts are totally rotten and crusty. They rounded off as soon as I tried to undo them.
I am left with 2 options.
1 Pay a garage to do it, nice and easy but I am skint
2 Cut the old nut and bolts out
For option 2, the only way I know to do it, is to get an angle grinder and grind the nuts flat then knock the remains of the bolts out of the other side.
Is this safe to do under a car? with showers of spark and with the fuel lines and fuel tank all within a couple of feet of where I am grinding.
Is there a better way to remove or cut the old nuts and bolts out?
I hope this doesnt sound a stupid question but I have never done anything like this before.

If you can edit your first post, try and put the price in the title or the mods might remove the advert. Nice car, I used to have 2 spi model coopers.

It went very quickly on ebay, it had a lot of interest, 2 seat single cab long bed trucks seem pretty rare these days. If you find one, I couldn't fault mine, it was a great truck.

Bortaf the picture shows the clip just poking into the hole. The hole next to it does not have a clip. Where can I buy tiger seal? I've not heard of that before.

Great pics, its a shame, but there doesn't seem to be many people making hot rod style cars like that with big back wheels and roof chops.

My other half has asked me to post to see if anyone can help out with her E36 BMW. The trim on the drivers door has popped out at one end. Its got a little white plastic peg with a rubber cover on the end. The 2 sides of the peg flare outwards so it should catch in the door hole but it doesn't and pops straight back out. Has anyone got an idea of how we can fix it? We were thinking either fixing it in place with a strong glue or trying somehow to get the peg to do its job.

For some reason there's not much interest in these gen 5 models, apart from a few hardcore fans. I been trying to sell mine on and off for about 18 month but ended up keeping it. I'm a member of celica club, it might be worth going on and putting up an advert on there, it's free to place an advert. These are amazing value for money and utterly bulletproof. Good luck with the sale.

My other truck a Ford Ranger 2.5D, didn't look as good as the Mazda but it drove like a normal car, really nice to be in.

My Mazda B2200, loved it, but it was a pig to drive, no pas and very heavy sterring, wouldn't do much more than 55mph, but I just had so much fun in it.

I have had a few people knock here when I had a mk2 escort, they were polite, and I was polite too, telling them no its not for sale. I had a bloke knock asking to buy my cortina, he was so drunk he couldn't speak properly, but still friendly "I love cortinas mmmmmmmmmmm can I buy it?" haha.

I go most years for the TT, its an amazing place, what makes it for me is the people. Last year a family let us into their garden to watch one of the TT races. We talked to the house owner and said thankyou. Next thing we knew, he put a BBQ on and fed us, never met the guy until an hour earlier. There are so many places to go, its a great place for just setting off and randomly exploring and seeing what you find. The weather can be so different from one place to another for such a small island. We were in Laxey a couple of years ago and it was lashing down all day, so we didn't get on the bikes that day and stayed around the campsite, a few mile up the road in Ramsey my mate said it was lovely all day. One thing to remember, there is the open speed limit roads which are great fun, but the police can still do you if they consider your driving to be dangerous.

I sold a capri, had a mk2 escort for a couple of years, then bought the capri back, worst thing I ever did, it ended up scrapped.

Out of interest, those running a welded diff on the road, has anyone told their insurance company? and if so how did it affect your premium?

That is maybe the last pic i have. Slot mags and 2.0 fitted. The donut on the prop shaft had became damaged and was out of shape, it shook the whole car on the motorway until the starter motor fell out. Luckily it was on the way to a ford meet, so there were tools and help to sort it.

I pulled off the 15 tsw wheels that are in this picture, just personal preference, I like old fords to be on 13s. I got some polished slot mags and bought brand new rubber. A lad I know put a mad 170bhp pinto in his escort so I got his old 2.0 pinto and put that in. That exhaust would not go through the mot here, I welded a clutch spacer from a bike engine over the end of the pipe, it made the car almost silent. It passed the mot then I cut it back off. I sold it when I got into off roading, and it was on the road for a while, but at the moment I have no idea if it's still going. I'll see if I can find a pic from when I had it last.
