I feel your pain, I've had my cortina for nearly 15 years and only had it on the road for the first 2. Granted life etc gets in the way but I waste time being fastidious over the smallest details - this is part of this hobby of ours, if we didn't get like this it's probably a sign your hearts not fully in it.
They are tidy brackets and linkages by the way...

From my research when looking for blowers for the Cortina I went with an M45 from a mini but the Mercedes ones are just as good.
The VW one has internal gearing to get it to spin up quicker but loses puff at 3500rpm as mentioned previously.
I think the manifold you've found is ideal and is similar to the cortina's one I'll try to use. You could also use HIF 44 SU carbs for a blow through setup if you have a manifold for a single car setup or a Renault 5 one which could be used with the manifold you have.
The current consideration I have to overcome is the ignition as information I have currently is limited leading me to think of a mappable system, for that layout and consideration I'd also go mapped fuelling to. which isn't the way I'd like to do it.
I think it's a great idea and very similar to what I want from the Cortina

Thank you gents, I'll give them a try. I know that some items are hard to chrome like the headlight trims for heralds which are mazak.
I'm going to ask - I can always do these at a later date if need be

Lovely work Chris, I like well fabricated parts but get a little sad that some of these pieces are rarely seen once the car is a car again!

The door hinges on the cortina have these shims or gaskets on them - does anyone know what they're made of? The feel tough so not paper as such and its grainy like 120-180 grit glass paper? Any ideas?

Having done all mine manually on my back with a car inches above me I'd not recommend it - knot wheels are dangerous and as aggressive as any other process.
Its just down to budget - sorry to hijack gents.
I'm excited to watch the progress on this, I had no idea how many panels go into an MGB!

Looking good Jonsey I do like the lotus steels but I've never been down with the kids so don't pay attention to me!
I'll try those engine leak tips out on mine because if it creates a bigger oil pool I'll end up getting invaded by the USA

I was following the run via various sources on social media - I've wanted to go see the run for years but haven't it's a great tradition in my opinion, it's a real tragedy for the family and all involved.

Jim - Glad you have got it sorted - it looks a decent job and now you can concentrate on getting it back together over the winter months Thanks Chris, its bizarre to actually put stuff on and leave it on! Do you think I'd be ok to cavity wax the painted panels and shell? Great you have her back Jim now the fun starts. I will be looking forward to following your progress. Thanks Pete and thank you for the advice last week Brilliant. Should be ready by spring? Hahahaha! I wish but I'll do my best! Love it, cant wait to see the rebuild photos and progress. That was a quick turn around from the paint shop! Thanks dude - I need to come over and see the fasty again. I was surprised by how quickly it was turned around too!
