at no point does a 8v have more bhp or torque anywhere thru the rev range , over a 16v, 16v is fatser off the line and all the way to top end where 8vs are left way behind, all the people who say 8vs are better to dive must have experienced a 16v that was worn out and down on power.
they are decent dailys for a 20 year old car, don't comolare comfort wise but they arnt too bad

if its got a thick wiring loom take a hacksaw to it, i always cut what ever wiring i can get to easily and it usually weighs in for a decent price, and I'm never short of high quality wire either.

best setup for cheap ive seen is using a Bosch filter head, then a £10 adapter to fit a Volkswagen oil cooler then normal filter fits on bottom, connect into water system and heats the fuel up very well. Obviously does not help cold starts, other than twin tank really nothing will.

you heard a pop while running on gas? was it a intake backfire? if it was they can break all kind of stuff, i had one that bent and seized the airflow meter flap, they have a lot of force. if this is the case it could have damaged the metering head.

Have you been running this on veg, because thats an AAZ engine, and they can't be run on veg oil... first of all its not a AAZ, second most if not all AAZ had a mechanical ve pump that runs fine one veg, third the 1z and AAZ also run fine on pure veg, plenty of people running them for thousands of miles on vegbio forum - dunno where you are getting your info from but id suggest checking it, before giving it out.

they actually took you to court? did you turn up? If you have said that you had posted it to them, you had have won the case, once that letter enters the postbox its deemed to be served, you have no legal requirement to chase it up (as much as the dvla lie and try and tell you it is infact law). To win they would need to prove that you havnt posted it (near impossible) or you get a judge decides he can make the law up as he goes along.
This also applies to fines for not declaring sorn. Tbh id thought they had stopped talking people to court for such offences as a quick google search tells you the real facts and not dvla's make believe ones.

seen many a e30 coupe with bitumen/flashing/ fibre glass/expanable foam inner rear arches in my time, must be the biggest killer of the coupe, they never seem to get new arches fitted to em, just either bodged or scrapped.

Ones like that shudnt spin that easy if u clean the thread up, its one with nylock nuts on that can be a pain.
if it does spin, and its the same as the one in the picture, i always have the car on an axle stand so the suspension is fully extended then get a piece of wood put on top of the balljoint, then other end goes to something solid(usually just inner arch), then use the jack to jack the suspension up so all of the cars weight is in that balljoint, always seems to do the trick. If not its time for heat.

another example of someone giving out duff information. if the car is sorn'd it doesn't need to be insured! it only needs to be insured if its still got valid tax.
how u have the car now is perfectly legal.

Mileage: 200,000ish Tax: 4 months MOT: mid'end april 2012 Location: sheffield Price: £900 or p/x swaps This is mainly an offroad vehicle but is road legal, don't be expecting a nice luxary daily, as it is not that! Goes extremely well offroad and is ok on road feels abit wobbly and steering a bit vague due to the suspension lift and Knobbly tyres, possibly the front shocks are worn as well (i have fitted brand new rear ones). Hasn't caused me any problems ive driven it all over just takes some getting used to driving as do all moded 4x4s. Good bits manual, mot til mid april and taxed, rear to drive away. highish mileage but always starts and runs perfectly. has 265/75/16 insa turbo tyres on alloy wheels ally tyres have very good thread, they havnt done many miles (these cost a bomb), also has brand new spare and steel rim. front winch bumper fitted, heavy duty steering guard, front and rear diff guards, light bar fitted and all wired up, safari snorkel (expensive one, not home made rubbish) wind guards on the front doors to reduce road noise when windows are down. has a pro comp suspension lift 2 inch, and 1 inch raiser blocks(raer) and with 2 inch lowering shock mounts, new rear shockers fitted(pro comp same as front), great articulation. new radious arm bushes and prop coupling. All gears select and work as they should, as does diff lock, hi + low etc. has cobra alarm and immobiliser fitted. tinted rear windows. has a cd player and some speakers fitted. Bad off road body work, its not a minter, dints here and ther etc, pulls the off roader look. kicks out some smoke when cold for the first 5 minutes, then is fine after that. pretty solid, boot floor has had a few patches before i got it don't think it will need any more, will probs need a few patches on the inner rear aches in the corner, and one pact on drivers floor. Cant see another welding that needs doing. chassis is solid, shudnt need much work for another mot. straight thru exhaust, needs a tip at the rear as alittle short. no carpets fitted, due to going in water. rear bumper is broken on one edge and is tied on and needs either refitting or removing. driver seat belt mechanism is stuck but i will try and fix this before the end of the auction. will need the drivers side rear seat belt mounting point(one on the arch) welding, as this has come away, not a big job

ok so my car is 12v, but i want to run hydraulics at 24v, so going to run 2 seperate batteries in series to power the hydraulics.
question is do i earth the 24v setup to the chassis? or just to the hydraulics? does it matter either way?
sounds silly but just checking. cheers

if it goes over the weigh bridge it is only worth the weight of the metal, doesnt matter what condition any part of is in. Best way is ebay 99p start no reserve and a decent written advert should see £500.
