Although I would still mot it (mainly because I don't agree with cars being mot exempt), you would be covered for mot exemption under this:
"• changes of a type, that can be demonstrated to have been made when vehicles of the type were in production or in general use (within ten years of the end of production);"

You cant put top coat over hammerite, that will not end well. The best thing to do here is to sand back the areas that have reacted, then use panel wipe to clean the area, and repaint.

I need the bracket and linkages and the whole assembly, looks like it wont work. It does, but you use the complete bmw setup, not a direct fit but easy enough. I put one in the 960 wagon we swapped an m90 and t5 into, worked fine.

Hello, I am in the US and I cannot for the life of me find a shifter assembly for the m90 transmission. I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to help. Must be willing to ship to US. Thank you!
If your struggling, you can use a BMW shifter from e30 ect.

Throw the leaf springs away, and fab up a trailing arm from the front spring eye mount down to the u bolts on the axle.
You would need a panard rod to stop side to side movement, or make a v link from the top of the axle.

I had an ambulance once (in fact I've owned two) And if it's still registered as an ambulance there will be a special MOT category for ambulance (something like class 5) it's cheaper And it was free road tax Win win I wouldn't try that if I were you, because it's highly illegal and the fine that you will get if found out will far exceed the money you've saved.

Really??! I am all over the place to verify this. I wanted an OM606 or OM605 merc engine to mess aroumd with superturbodieseling but am constantly gettimg scare stories. I had to back down to a 220cdi now with a hacked ecu which doesnt fill me with confidence. Have you seen an RHD W114 or W115 with a turbocharged engine? Any links appreciated. Not sure what scare stories you've been getting? om605/6 is an awesome engine to use, I've got one swapped into my daily driver. I wouldn't touch a cdi engine for a swap such as yours, that's a whole lot of electrical work for no reason. Besides that it's still got a turbo in the same place.... I used to know of a turbo m103 in a w114, but I don't have any pics of a om606 swap on as uk car. Why are you being told it cant be done?

Iirc, the sensor you've got is for diagnostics only and lives on a bracket by the crank pulley (the crank sensor is the one under the oil filter).
The plug looks like the one that connects to the main loom in the bottom of the fuse box, use this for the ignition lives and gauge feeds.

Just modify the downpipe, the RHD benz turbo issue is hyped up by people that have never tried it.

Was getting bad steering wheel shudder on my old 190e years ago, and I couldn't find the cause of it. Replaced all the bushes and joints ect, shudder still there no matter what I did. Eventually figured out that the steering idler arm bushes were a loose fit in their tube as years of dirt had honed it out a mm or so. The cure for this was to shim it out with a cut about redbull can, drove perfect after that.
