Been painting my lawnmower today. Sanded and primed the wheel arches. Started to put on the top coat and it’s bubbling up and the same with some other parts, not everywhere. Is there any paint I could use first? Half tempted to hammerite it and try and spray that with the top coat. Wanted to make a half decent job of the mower but pointless to keep painting stuff just for it it look a mess. Thanks.

You cant put top coat over hammerite, that will not end well. The best thing to do here is to sand back the areas that have reacted, then use panel wipe to clean the area, and repaint.
