Thank you for the kind words guys - Sinky, Yoeddnyz, Ross, Steveday, DieselWeasel, Nofrills, Rich606, Oli8925, Torquesport and Tony. I've taken a bit of an emotional break from the car for a month after the gathering as it had absolutely consumed me getting it to this stage. I went out and started wet sanding and polishing the rear arches a week or so ago though, and I'm not going to say that I've got my excitement back for it as that never left, but mojo has levelled out enough to continue the work, first and foremost of which, is to get all the engine sorted in terms of all the belts needed, new plugs, leads, radiator re-core and then the prop !! I'll leave you with some photos from some friends who grabbed some images at the Gathering, thank you to those of you! just read all 17 pages - awesome. whats the current status with the galant? Thank you very much indeed! Appreciate the comment. Current state is under covers. The weather this summer hasn't been kind. Every stretch of time I've had that could be considered 'quiet' at work (I'm a tennis coach) has coincided with rain and I've managed hardly any time on it at all. I have managed to get the prop shaft sorted and ready to fit and also found out the fuel pump mysteriously broke, so I need a new one. Radiator is currently away being recored and improved and the interior is slowly being put back in and switch panels being made... Update soon! If the weather bloomin' well sorts itself out! Thanks again Chris

I'm gald this thread came to life again 'cos I've missed it until now.
Nice job. I'm hoping to get the same sort of old-school Pro-Touring look to my Scimitar. That's giving me a bit of inspiration.

Well, for saying that HJ Chardl is a professional prop shaft company, they've made a pretty inaccurate job of making this fit...! Talk about tolerances! He was questioning my measurements possibly being 2mm out. Yeah, right! I know damn well I wasn't 2inches out!

Far far FAR overdue an update on this! I absolutely love this car but over the last year have managed to find very very little time, resources and funds (let alone the right weather when I finally had a day off!) to get on with it! One of the issues that got me rather cross was last time I tried to start it I found out that the fuel pump had died! Very annoying seeing as it had probably had a total of 10minutes running time, if that, in it's life. A few weeks ago I popped a cheeky email over to the company who make the pump asking if there was anything they could do. It was now nearly two years since I bought it, and a good 18months since I'd fitted it but I explained the amount of running it had had, and they thankfully said they would have a look at it. Shipped it off to them the same day and two days later I received... Replaced! by Diabolu80, on Flickr If there's one thing that gets your mojo back up instantly it's the great customer service from a company when something has failed or gone wrong! I was now extremely excited! This monday, I had most of the day off so had planned to fit it and turn the engine over... ... rained... AAAAAGH!! Here we go again. But it was alright, as I also had the majority of tuesday off too. ...rained... Ok! No point getting cross so I ordered a few bits and pieces (toggle switches, found some interior carpet, ordered some more brake piping and some lengths of wire for anymore wiring I might need to do... and some blue warning lights - I know... right haha) Thursday came and with it came the sunshine! That meant the full tilt canvas came off the Landie to drive to coach a group of ladies in the morning and then home to... First things that was noticed is they hadn't sent any nuts for the pumps electrical connectors. Time to break out the box of many nuts The nut collection by Diabolu80, on Flickr A couple were found, and also snagged a pair of grip washers too. _DSC1015.jpg by Diabolu80, on Flickr Wrapped it in some dense foam and piped it all in! Fitted by Diabolu80, on Flickr Awesome! Turned the key, switched on the fuel pumps and waited for the swirl pot to fill a little. Turned her over and CHUG... nothing. Battery was flaaaaaaaatter than a hedgehog on an american highway! No problem though as I happened to have a Landie sat next to me with the worlds largest battery haha _DSC1021.jpg by Diabolu80, on Flickr Yep, it really is quite expansive. Monster Battery by Diabolu80, on Flickr Swapped and this lead to... (CLICK THE IMAGE FOR AWESOMENESS!) BAH! No I haven't deleted it!! Or moved it!!
