Thats just ridiculous.
I saw a thing on the telly about some bloke who charges the earth for valets on supercars etc. Frankly, its a load of horsefeathers... I'm sure each of his snake oils makes a titchy bit a difference, but the sums involved make my mortgage repayments look small.
And tbh, the sort of w@nkers that will pay that sort of money to valet a car they probably only drive less than 200miles a year don't deserve air in my book. Enzo et al would hate all that b0llocks.
I saw a genuine Ferarri 250SWB at Castle Coombe a couple of years ago, parked up in the paddock - he drove the car in, jumped out and walked off. The doors were unlocked and the keys were swinging in the ignition. The car had dents and scratches all over it, the seats were cracked and the Borrani wire wheels were rusty... however, the car was full of scruitineering passes from hillclimbs, sprints etc from where the car was used for what Enzo designed it for (it wasn't hanging, just well used and had real patina). A couple of old buffers looked horrified at the car's condition (complete with bent rear numberplate exposing an Italian plate underneath), but to me that was the epitome of cool.

Just cos something is good for you doesn't mean its good for everyone - for example Marmite does not make good Dog Food.

Now that is definitely a cool Ferrari!!!

Polishing cars, Pah! I polished the Wife's modern a few weeks ago, looked lovely, and what did she do? Got it dirty again.
It doesn't seem to matter how well I do it, one week of blasting down the lanes around here and it's mucky again.

That`s not a bad deal, you got coffee jars and all sorts with it. The auction stuff is probably pink PDI polish. It is easy to use but will not yield a lasting shine. Autoglym isnt bad, probably the best I`ve tried.

I think you should have splurged £30k on that bottle of stuff that someone(Was it you?) posted on here a few months ago. Guaranteed to be better!
I have a bottle of "Řåŧłöøķ", the polish you apply simply by driving on country roads in the winter.

I usually use Autoglym followed by Turtlewax (the tub stuff, not the runny bottled stuff), usually gets me a nice shine. Not too expensive either, and lasts quite a while.

Whats to understand? Some people like to take pride in what they drive. Just because the majority of people wash their car with a gritty sponge and the cheapest shampoo they can find doesn't mean everyone else has to have low standards.

There's nothing wrong having a clean car thats been done properly, but cleaning with cotton buds and the like is a bit excessive to me. Having said this somebody says, dci badge on the Clio stands for doesn't clean it
To me a miracle is a bottle normally involves a bottle of gin or the like

I still operate the university method of cleaning - at the beginning of a term. Since I've got 3 a year that means 3 car wash and polishes. Beyond that ... sorry I don't have the time. Or the inclination. (oh, and that's post 500 !)

You want the Jonny69 method of detailing, you do. A spot of spit and wipe it over with your sleeve.
I wash my car with a sponge and Halfords car shampoo, dry it with a chamois chammy one of them yellow leather cloths. You can put some autoglym polish on afterwards if you're in the mood, or not bother.
