The reason for the Saab engine is mainly a good mate has been swapping these in to all sorts for about 10years. He knows them like the back of his hand and he thinks it will be something different. Basically I do the donkey work and he sorts the electrics and steers me in the right direction. Should be bomb proof once we sort a sump out and rebuild it with new bearing and gaskets. 200-250 bhp is nothing for these according to form. He’s currently pushing 500bhp with only a headgasket failure in 3 years and it regularly gets abused. A lightweight sports car with a real kick to surprise people is my aim. The whole “oh look at that nice looking old car” followed by “ what was that”.
