I wasn't expecting to see this when I opened it up!
However, it's pleasantly surprising to see this. This is how cars used to have modifications done more commonly back in the day.
For some reason this also reminds me of a car a neighbour had. He wanted my dad's MkIV XR3i, but insurance was the issue. The chap did however have a tired Orion 1.6i Ghia.
He eventually would get a red MkIII which had an XR3i bodykit on it, but a Series 1 RS Turbo interior as well as an RS Turbo engine.
He loved that car, but it eventually got hit as unsurprisingly, it was a bit of a jump in power from an Orion!
I do at times however miss my RS Turbo. That said, at that particular time in life, it wasn't quite the right car for me, so I can't moan too much . The noise is what I won't forget. Every journey was an event however, sometimes not quite the right event!
Hey!
Your reply really did make me smile. The idea I had when I got this car was to make it look like the cars that used to buzz about in Leyland back when I first passed my test. Ones that spring to mind from back then were a light blue mk2 fiesta popular plus with full XR2 body kit. Countless Nova SR and GSI replicas. I think it is missing from today's modified car world.
Your RST was a thread that I followed and enjoyed reading. It was a brilliant car of course!
