	I bought this tired 75 Targa recently, previous owner got scared off when he sent it to a garage to restore, I'd agree it's probably beyond a commercial restoration, so to cut his loses he needed a fool to step in & take it over, que the fool.... As the shell was already stripped, I took it staight to the blasters

	Made a rollover jig, so I've got access to everything, surprisingly the sills are very good & the body has been brased, otherwise I would make the shell structurally solid before attempting this. The floors are completely gone along with everything that it's attached to, I've bought a complete floor pan & healboard, but will fabricate all the repair panels around it, footwell panels, inner sills & gearbox tunnel. I'll start with the front lower inner wing, the often rot along here Made a contour of the shape, turned a flange, added the radius & other half, tacked & tigged together Offered up, scribed & welded up For those interested in learning a bit more in depth panel beating/metalshaping, here are two well known sites specifically dealing with metalwork.... www.allmetalshaping.com www.metalmeet.com

	That is some pretty good fabrication work! Well done that man - Bookmarked! Is it just the shell you have or are there loads of other bits in boxes??

	Excellent stuff, love these early Porkers. Saw a nice Targa the other week at a place I do some work for, it had come in as a p-ex. That needed a full respray really but the garage owner had been offered a very nice sum as it stands so I think he decided to offload it before getting into this ^ kind of territory, lol Bookmarked.

	presumably pre-galvanized era? mind you even that only slows those bloody tin worms down. will be following fabrication of this quality very closely.

	I'm guessing you've done this sort of fabrication before. I'd have had to buy that panel as I'd have concluded it's impossible to make. Fantastic skillage

	Thanks guys for the positive feedback. I'm a couple of months into this, so have a little stock pile to post, most of it's just boring patch work stuff, you know the thing. However the more challenging things I'll try & document the fabrication approach I take. I have my own sign fabrication business, so I have all the kit available to fab what I need, which makes life easier, but still takes a lot of time If you notice in one of the pictures some aluminium wings on the wall, this the thread that shows how I made them.. forum.retro-rides.org/thread/197557/martins-restoration-mash More to follow

	Wow - just when I thought I had my hands full! Then again, you have the skillz... mine seem to be lacking(!) This is my 75 coupe money pit I spent 4hrs this weekend, trying to get the bonnet and a single wing fitted in a state I’m happy with. Still more to do to it. The supplier of the wing says ‘allow at least 20mins per side for fitting’. If only you lived a little closer!

	Yes Porsche resto's & parts are a premium, but they are going one way, upwards! So you want see the little stuff too, no problem..... I was really pleased with this little shape, just hammered & shaped over anything in the workshop The black outline is where it lives now Another intricate little shape And will need tidying up when the floor goes in..
