We enjoyed it so much we're doing it again, for longer and with more going on too. Retro Rides Summer Holiday 2016 is returning to Château Rive Sarthe for a second time, this time the nice people over at Le Mans circuit are putting on a little display for us in the form of the Le Mans Classic, a pretty much incomparable feast of automotive brilliance. You can see what we thought last time it ran here : retrorides.proboards.com/thread/168473/mans-classic-2014-hotwire-perspective Here's the planHead down to Château Rive Sarthe on Thursday 7th July, on Friday 8th July we'll be hosting our 'rassemblement' at the Château again, inviting other people attending Le Mans Classic to come along, park up and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Saturday and Sunday are there for you to come and go from the track and enjoy the event. Monday 11th we'll serve breakfast and then head back to the UK by whatever method and means we can. Sound good? Of course it does, it'll be a fantastic weekend, and you really should come. Le Man Classic doesn't run every year, and to get to enjoy the event with the lovely people of the Retro Rides community is a great way to do it. This sounds perfect, how much does it cost? The basic four nights camping from Thursday to Monday costs £89 per person, we can supply breakfast every day for £22 per person, or if you prefer your Friday and Sunday evening meals and your breakfast that'll be £52 per person. We can even supply a pre-erected 4 man tent (two doubles and a large middle area) for £50. These are all optional, but we like to give you options to enjoy the maximum amount of your holiday. We also have chalets and gites available, we will publish a full price list for these. Tickets can be purchased here : retrorides.tictail.com

Well, I've put my name down on Facebook, so I'll put a marker in here! I was going to go the Le Mans Classic this year but missed out so this seems like fate. I'll mention it to the boss and buy my ticket in the week!

I was going to go the Le Mans Classic this year but missed out so this seems like fate. Luckily the Classic is every 2 yrs then.... even numbered years. I'll be over there for the Classic in '16 and should be able to pop in for a meet in the Beat, our 'chateau' is only 40km away t'other side of le Lude

Really want to do this! Although i have no idea what driving in France is like. Sorry if this is a stupid question but do you require additional insurance cover when driving in europe? Also does anyone know how much it costs roughly for tickets to the Le Mans Classic for the weekend? Cheers, Matt

Driving in France is super easy. You will need to speak to your insurance about euro cover.
We'll get a list of other costs to consider, part of the reason we have put this up early so that people can spread the costs.

Well I think I'm in again, we loved it last time. French cars on french roads, are right at home. So much so that mine didn't break down. Would like to plan a chantier de ferraille or scrapyard run

Hopefully we will have an RR meet somewhere in that time period - I'm with a bunch of people who now we have found a suitable campsite keep going back year after year so want to stick with that location so I'll keep and eye on the thread and look closer to the time to see what the itinery is.

I'll be working just outside Mulsanne, mates venue has bar, restaurant and 2 lakes on site if anyone wanted to pop in for a beer. I/we have been going/working at Le Mans for the last 10 years, have tools here and a very large car park. It's due east from Rive Sarthe on the A28 just outside Mulsanne. I'd be happy to ask about using the venue as a meet if anyone wanted? I'm Mark and would likely be in the kitchen Let me know if you do stop in. Karts is good - worth the extra for the quicker ones but watch the throttles, they have a tendency to stick open,it's ok but then the brakes don't last long

Come along and see us on the Friday, all the T/Dest guys know where we are. I would imagine that quite a few of them from your site and their Porsche Curves site will be there.
