Naaah, I'm really chuffed that they're thinking out of the box and wondering how they can get what most of them rightly call a 'VW dominated look' onto their Saxos. That's surely how trends spread and you get oddball combinations. Sure 90% of the ones that are embracing Euro will probably be bored of it next year but some will remain, Euro something else, start going to a few different shows..... Guy at work had a slammed Civic, then moved on to a really rather nasty bodykitted flip-painted 18"-rimmed Celica (not even a nice kit, it was a copy of some japanese kit and fitted very poorly). Suddenly he's had some kind of brainwave, sold the Celica, bought a mk4 Golf and the only mods planned are a debadged grille to go with the Anniversary lights. It's got Anniversary wheels too, black with tan leather, and it's sweet. Proof that chavvy leopards can change their spots

Yes, how much do i fancy a Kadett, thats sex on wheels! As for AX's, only passengered, my mate liked the 1.4 or diesel thing he borrowed in the 90's it was quirky, fun down to earth, but not luxury or owt. and he's a little bit posh!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I really couldn't give a flying toss whether overgrown 15 year olds like Golfs or not. The majority of them aren't petrolheads. They don't get their hands dirty and are just following another trend like Burberry or Nike Air trainers. In ten years time most of them will have progressed to being trainee assistant manager at Maccy Dees and will drive nearly new Vectras bought from yes car credit. I'm glad I don't fall into that majority of overgrown 15 yr old!

Some of you are harsh. We were all young and foolish once. I had more fibreglass on my Cavalier than the average fair ground ride and thought painting my mates drum brakes bright red was the most exciting thing in the world.

Someone needs to build a saxo with DS wheels,2cv hammock style seats and a single spoke tubular steel steering wheel decked on airride and painted in and old DS style 2 tone ie: Pale green with a cream roof or similar.

You've been telling me you were a genius since you were seventeen ... in all the time I've known you I still don't know what you mean !

I own a saxo and am a member of that forum.
I think taste levels have increased but there is obviously people still building fibreglassed monstousities.
As for stripped out hot hatches there's a fair few Saxo's going down that route. Was talking to a fella the other night who had a very nice VTR all stripped out harness's half cage on 106 rallye steels.
I love my Little VTR. Its quick enough for me and handles brilliantly. I'm seriously thinking about just keeping it and spending some money modifying it (tastefully)

Alot of narrowmindedness there, but some positive views too. Glad to say this place seems to offer much more diversity Gotta admit, I do love upsetting VTR's in the 360 - the drivers are NEVER happy afterwards ;D

OK so it's a 106 and not a Saxo, but get rid of the headlamp brows and the filler cap and it's spot on IMO, and it'd be cool to see some Cits buzzing around here in this style

as in the above example, modern cars can be modded (bodykit, big wheels, funny little mirrors) and still look cool. i'll be the first to say when i see a nicely modded modern motor. and i think the majority of guys on here are the same, its the tools that just stick anything on, badly, and expect people to be nice about it. think i went off point there but whatever.
