the forums seemed a little slow recently, and with winter now fast approaching it seems an ideal time to discuss what lies ahead for the cold months.
Ive got an anti roll bar mount to repair/fabricate for the 411 and then stick her back through the mot.
The benz might now be kept. Ive got my eye on some borbet A's and maybe a new interior, plus a stereo. Luxury - but cool - mile muncher is what I'm after.
Very soon Tashas racecar will find its way to the storage barn, and her yellow bug will take its place. That will have a few niggles sorted out so it is ready for next year. Crossing my fingers it doesnt need too much welding!
And then the barn at our house is being properly cleared out and my Honda NC30 will enter it to be stripped down and rebuilt for next summer.

I'm going to be working on the racer - hopefully the chassis will be finished and painted with new fuel and brake lines before january... i then have lots of little bits to rebuild inside the house (dashboard, guages etc oh and building the megajolt and sorting olout the wiring loom!), but i will probably still be braveing it when i can! retrorides.proboards86.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=1152570389Also, the beige kitten will get a top secret make over and some well needed TLC ready for next showing season. Man I'm gonna be busy - 2 cars to build by RR show!

Hopefully find a damn garage first off!!!! - Seems to be an issue around Brussels! 1. Triumph 2500 - finish bodywork, will need a respray sometime I suppose - fit all the wonderful poly bits n lowered suspension jobbies. 2. Triumph 2000 - in storage - find a donor Beemer and look at running gear trade-off. 3. Citroen DS - finish welding - then sort for respray as well. 4. Alfa - head gasket I think ( damn it ) - rebuild transaxle ( double dammit! ) and new rear discs n calipers for the baby. 5. Spitfire - bro in law putting through MOT for me in UK - pick it up after that 6. Dolly Sprint - stripped out at present - not sure yet of plan.... ideas? Something to keep me occupied as I avoid the usual seasonal bull......... looking forward to some spanner wielding - this last year setting up my business has left me neglecting the fleet. Time to make good!

#1. Get the frikkin Chrysler running. Parts ordered, fingers crossed. Damn thing is going to go over budget, I can tell. Initial assessment is that it needs a damn good service and a carburettor rebuild. Could be I'm better installing a new carb, distributor, ignition controller and getting rid of the computer control and emissions systems. I'd far rather get it running as stock forst and worry about conversion stuff later. It is supposed to be my daily driver after all!
#2 I have my Capri to move from one lockup to another. Still not got that sorted 2 months after getting the new lockup. I just have the feeling of that being a nightmare job of siezed on brakes and such.
#3 lockups/attic clearance. Too much tat. Got a lifetimes supply of the stuff and I need the space and the money so I'll be spending some time clearning that lot out.
#4 household DIY. No escaping it.
#5. Might start looking at the Buick. Unlikely to have the money to do anything with it so its going to have to be 99% inginuity and hard labour, coupled with some eBay thrashing to raise some cash for the paint. Unlikely to be getting anywhere near anything other than primer until April time.
#6 Oldsmobile transmission. Still not done. No idea how or when I will be able to do anything with this.

1] Continue painting bits of my manta when weather permits. 2] Weld up the chevette and get it through an MOT. Other than that just keeping the Manta running nicely although I am getting a yearning for some nice fuel injection...

Hmmm. Well the plan at the moment is as follows: (1) Weld up the manky sills on the Skoda & get it MoT'd, then slam to within an inch of it's life, give it a damn good polish / rust bust, apply the 'retro-rides' look (2) Give the BMW a 'makeover' (sort out minor bodywork gripes, new wheels, some 'customisation') (3) Funds permitting, lash out a load of dinara on a 2.1 overbore + new cams etc. for it. Lots of cash, which I don't have right now though (4) Sort out the Septic if it doesn't find a new home... (5) Point and laugh at Russell Of course there is a strong likelyhood that I will achieve precisely NONE of the above due to time & money constraints (apart from point number 5, which is an activity I engage in on a daily basis).

Having bought one of those temporary garages to get the Vogue into to free up the workshop, the truck's now in the dry for a bit of a makeover this winter. Starting with the bodywork (one wing's already off), it's getting replacement front wings and doors (featuring Rover 200 lock mechanisms in the pillars, pins on the doors, and new electric 'one-piece' windows), a general tidy up of the bodywork, and a fresh coat of paint. If time permits, it's also getting an MGB disc brake conversion and TR6 steels/low profiles and satin finish Moondiscs, and if money and time permits, an LDV Pilot gearbox and a tuned Peugeot 306/406 1.9 TD engine... Moving house in 2 weeks, no garage but space on site for 30' x 24' garage . Also collecting a Fiat 127 and Uno soon before they're crushed... Seriously considering Omega/BMW diesel power for the Triumph 2000 MK1

1. Give my Mini 35 a service, refit arches, seatbelts, speakers and a few other minor bits for the MOT.
2. Get the wheels on my Dolly painted, not sure what colour yet. Either black or silver.
3. Get some new tyres for the Hornet and get the wheels painted or powdercoated while the tyres are off so I can move the car round and get to my Bantam. Get the chrome bits shinning again. Poke around and see if theres any new bits of rust.
4. When I can get to the Bantam I've got to take the rear arch off and replace, the metal split while it was on the back of my mates pickup. Oh, and get it running again. Hasn't run for about 4 months. Its a pain in the arse starting it anyway, even worse when it hasnt run for a while.

keefy in da house: Whats your winter plans/projects??Did you really have to ask that mate................ Well The Shop Hack is now on studded 13" wheels since we got the first snow here 2 weeks ago but it's now all gone so this last weekend I "winterized" it full on, (darn ugly) Audi looking hubcaps, rubber mats in, antifreeze washer fluid and gave it a good wash down, stupid since the temperature dropped to -10 (celcius) Sunday night so when it was off to work yesterday the doors was frosen stuck, good thing I don't lock the car at home, a piece of wood helped pry the door open and off I went.... I'm right now laying the final touces to The Formula scooter for a photo shoot for PETROL magazine www.petrolmag.net I'm also geting the last pieces for the 100 point restoration of a US spec 1983 Yamaha YZ 125 so I'll be able to file that bike away. Next is to start working seriously on the bike that's already booked for Custom Bike Shows next summer, mostly it's all down on paper (and allover the walls in my workshop), parts are slowly arriving but I must get myself into "builder mood" to kick it all of... The Volvo T22 is fitted for snow plowing and I have not really had the time to do much with it, maybe next summer.... For The Shop Hack I have a set of new, screw on this time, 15" Moon Discs on the shelf and a complete but used Golf mk 4 rear Air Ride is in the good hands of Curtis at Six Pac Lowriders to be checked and ready to fit when spring rolls around, other than that and a snip of the front coils it will keep doing it's stuff unchaged, maybe a new paint job but I really like it in suede grey so it might just get a touch up next spring after the snow & salt has done it's "magic" on it..... DP says: Sadly one day is only 24hours and one week only 7days, it s*cks big time......

Great to read about everyones' plans, 2007 is going to be a good year! No idea what I'm going to "do", or not. The 3-door needs a few minor dings sorting, a good Waxoyling and an "ultra-valet". The silver Sapphire just went through what will probably be it's final MOT. It failed big last week, and I couldn't bring myself to strip it yet, so it's patched up for the winter. Priorities are to earn a lot of cash and make the "sell or reshell" decision....

TwinCam.... Don't I know it! - Just bought a supercharger and a V6 for the Alfa and a mate cooked the b*gger! Rear caliper locked on and he drove it home! Blew the head pushing against seized brakes - when he stopped the rear end dutifully rewarded him with catching fire. Boot floor is a mess!!!! STILL - probably end up doing the whole lot over the next year instead of just a quick tidy up and back on the road BLUE - you swapping all the running gear or just the motor and gearbox? - I looked at he Omega lump - but thought I'd take a BMW in whole as they bought out Triumph - sorta takeover in reverse type thing........
