I love all things E21. I love the green one on bags and personally, I love the stupid amount of negative camber on the rear. That's purely my opinion though. I also love Robs old black 316. I'm not sure why exactly? just the simplicity of it I guess? The thing I like most though, is that e21's are just sooooooooooooooo cheap. Especially compared to other classic ''shark nosed'' BMW's. I'm lucky enough to be able to have an e21 for all occasions. My orange daily driver with a modern 2.8, my track car (County Race replica) and the most powerful dealer supplied UK e21 - the TWR 335, which is totally OE. All 3 cost less than a single e30 M3! I don't think there's a wrong way or right way to do things. If people didn't push the limits from time to time, it would all get pretty boring, pretty quickly. I wouldn't pay over the odds to import a rare spoiler from the end of Germany if all I wanted was for my car to look the same as everyone elses! Thanks for the positive comments on my cars too guys. It's much appreciated and gives me something to fight back with when the Mrs goes mental at me for spending way too much time and money on my cars. ;D

Performance BMW magazine have just added a green e21 on bags to their fleet. I'm not sure if it's the same one?

don't see the point of modding a car to the point it no longer serves its purpose of being a car thats nice to drive.
bags are pointless anyway. you lower a car to make it handle well, you take it too far, it has the opposite effect. as said already, its very easy to correct the rear negative camber issue, not doing so is silly!
as for that particular car, id walk straight past it without looking on general principle.
edit; sorry, i know this is happy happy rr, where were told to simply not post if we don't like something...... meh.

To get the rear arches sitting the same as the front it would have to rake by a ridiculous amount! Rake on a saloon is always going to be pro street cool.

don't see the point of modding a car to the point it no longer serves its purpose of being a car thats nice to drive. It's on air, you don't drive it at that height if you don't want tobags are pointless anyway. you lower a car to make it handle well, you take it too far, it has the opposite effect. as said already, its very easy to correct the rear negative camber issue, not doing so is silly! You don't only lower a car to make it handle well, in some cases it's purely aesthetic, like in this case.
And no the camber issue isn't easy to correct if you're on air. If you correct it at the slammed 'show' ride height, then when you raise the car to a driveable height to drive it home you'll have a whole bunch of positive camber and toe out, making a frankly dangerous car to drive. It's also not an 'issue' if you want the camber for aesthetic reasons.as for that particular car, id walk straight past it without looking on general principle. edit; sorry, I know this is happy happy rr, where were told to simply not post if we don't like something...... meh. I think you may be missing the point of the car somewhat. Not all cars are built for driving pleasure. People saying this car is flawed to drive is like saying a lotus Elise is curse word because it's not got a very big boot. If you're worrying about how fast this car can go round a corner, or what it's like to drive daily, then you're missing the point, it's pretty, and you don't have to drive it.Besides all this, with the suspension set at a reasonable height, assuming they've fitted decent dampers I bet it's really not noticeably worse than a lot of standard cars to drive, and even if some grip's been sacrificed, you don't have to drive round corners fast, people manage not to crash cars that handle badly from the factory, you just remember you're not in a super-amazing sports car and slow down a bit for the corners. So yeah, back on topic, I think the car looks awesome. I kind of agree that an inch more rake would be nice, but meh, it still looks awesome.

? Only messing. I don't see how I was back pedalling (took a bit of thinking to work it out haha). Every time there is a E21 thread on here and the car is modified for aesthetics rather than performance you and a few other E21 owners jump in with the same "why has it got negative camber, why is it so low, why are the wheels too big" posts. Gets a bit repetitive, would rather the E21 owners just posted awesome pics of E21's they like as they're cool cars however they're built. Matt

don't see the point of modding a car to the point it no longer serves its purpose of being a car thats nice to drive. No longer? Loads of cars need modified to make them barely acceptable to drive, never mind nice, never mind taking them beyond that! Anyway, plenty of other people see the point in it. It's just about making it look cool. It doesn't have to appeal to everyone! ^WHS! TeamBlitz u suk Thing is, boyz, them German Tennessee Limos all look the same to me. This one better? Yes, it is. I like. Same goes for me with Capris. They all look the same See instead of the bickering we should be sharing more E21s that we like... it is easy.. you just do this : The only E21 I like that isn't mine... The one my ex work-mate Ian used to own

Is this really happening? That E21 is lovely. I love the single headlight grille, the wheel choice and the stance. The seats aren't to my personal taste but I'd probably be able to live with them in such a cool ride. I'd go as far as saying that if you look at this car and can't see why it's awesome, or at least not like it but keep quiet then your wasting your time using RR. I'm not telling you what you should like or not like, I'm just explaining what RR is about - this forum isn't for whingers and I'm will never be persauded that a car like that E21 isn't exactly the kind of thing we love on RR. Go and start www.performancemodsonly.com, www.trackdayclassics.co.uk if you want, but don't try and make this place something it isn't. We like this form over function AND function over form...if you can't see the merits of both angles then I guess RR isn't for you, sorry.

Alright chaps, can't we just bang on about old cars? EDIT -- I actually forgot to say, I like pretty much every car in this thread so far, the green one could be described as dropped too low in the pics, but meh, horse for courses. I still love Misky's though.
