That is ridiculous, pointless, daft and dangerous.
Which is why I love the concept so much, and the execution even more.
Now which of cars has a tow-bar to which a Monkey Bike Rack can be fitted? Who needs a spare wheel when......

Back in the day one could buy a car from a scrap yard, submit it for Vehicle Identity Check and re-register it. A car has been 'scrapped', DVLA informed and Certificate of Destruction or whatever issued. If I buy it back from the scrapyard is it still as simple as VIC and re-register? I'm Googling DVLA site without success at the moment. The last thread I can find was 7 years ago and things have probably moved on since then: retrorides.proboards.com/thread/86146

Not a single TY, BB or JR in sight. Not even an HN United 'Bus.
Lovely cars beautifully presented - but where are the locals?
Dad's were: GHH 225 - Imported from Carlisle by a relative on his behalf STY 126 - a 1960 Hillman Minx in Red and Cream. There was another one in Coffee and Cream in Ashington - STY 127 BBB 238B FJR 931C
I imported RSM 623 from over the border in Dumfries so shouldn't really moan. Cars didn't travel so far from the first registration when they changed hands back in my childhood - at least not at first sale.
Similar phenomenon here in another rural county like Pembrokeshire. A Carmarthenshire registration is an import!
Thanks for sharing

VAG's use of the Auto Union logo on Audis. 'That' logo number plates rather than a proper GB plate.

One thing that (as an owner) always annoyed me more than it should was the horn grilles not lining up with the indicators on the S1 XJ6, see below. I've run Jaguars since the early 70's and never noticed! Now of course I will never get the image out of my mind. (takes laser level to front of 420 to check line up of lights and imitation ventilation grilles!)

Just for you I've copied my signature across from the Jaguar Forum.
Mine is the last one made to this spec for the UK market. The silly big wheels don't suit it.
If you are worried about longevity take comfort from mine - it's coming up to 186'000 miles. Let me down last month - expansion tank hose popped off!
I have averaged 24.6 mpg in the 20k miles since I got it.
It's our only car so my wife drives barely 1 mile to Lidl's, I too do the tip runs - those are single figure mpg runs. Then it gets used for its primary purpose of long hauls around the UK visiting offspring. Given that the sound of the supercharger is rather intoxicating I remain pleasantly surprised at the fuel consumption.
I have run Jaguars since 1977 and I rather like this one.

65 next month
Lusted after a Lagonda LG45
First car 1954 Sunbeam Talbot 90, followed by 1951 Alvis TA21, then 1962 MG 1100.
First Jaguar - 1967 S-Type - in 1977 thereafter Rovers and Jaguars as personal cars, but have suffered Renault and Mercedes Benz as company cars.
Currently Jaguar X358 Super V8 - the last UK market one in this specification according to JLR records.
Evidently genetic. No 1 son - Jaguar X308 LWB nasp and Mazda MX-5. Passed UK driving test in one of my Rover 820's. No 2 son - Daimler X308 Super V8 and Mazda MX-5. Passed RSA driving test in company car. No 3 son - Rover 820 and Vitesse - no MX-5 as he is too tall to fit. Passed UK driving test in another of my Rover 820's. Anxiously awaiting turning 25 so he can afford to insure the XK8 he's lusting after!
Never gelled with the XJ-S and still waiting for the Ian Callum styling to grow on me - without conspicuous success.

I have a '93 4 litre for breaking if Pembrokeshire is any nearer for you.
I want the running gear for a project but body, trim and all those little springs, clips and fiddly bits are avaliable.

Missed the Dart and the Gilbern Did you see the Armstrong-Siddeley Hurricane that arrived late and parked on the sand off to the right of the slipway? What did you reckon to that yellow Daimler Mrs Merdle-esq mash-up? Seemed like a period chassis with Jaguar Mk X/420G engine, B-W autobox, Jaguar instruments and modern seats in an as yet unfinished body? Knocked up as a film/TV prop? The real Mrs Merdle would have made an interesting, if obscure, link to the Railton. I regret to say I was very disappointed. Naively I expected them to run over a reasonable distance at a reasonable speed. In the event they ran a few hundred yards at about 40 mph just as a photo-op! Sounded nice though. The Sunbeam showed its ancient origins, but the Railton was a beautifully engineered work of art - talk of machined from billet!

Cheers! I really want to help raise a bit of 800 awareness. They deserve a bit more attention and need to be saved before they disappear altogether. So who are you on Rover800.info?

"My cars are now wrapped up and safely stored. I may sell them but I am, as yet, undecided on that point."
So much for going 'cold turkey' Brad. You soon fell off the wagon.
The dotinfo boys will keep a watchful eye out for you in case you need further help with your 800 addition.
