A few weeks ago, one of my best mates bought a new car. My grandparents had one exactly like that, and I was on a picture of it back in the day, so a repro had to be made: There's a 25 year difference between the pics Right from when he had it, I said: 'if you decide to sell, i'll have it' Little did I know, that 3 weeks down the line, it was for sale allready! And thus sold to me. So here it is, in all it's 1 liter 3 pot 2 speed semi-automatic glory: Interiour is proper retro and luxury! interval, rear wash/wipe etc. All of that on a base spec OAP special! Plenty of room for wider wheels, PCD is 4x110 and the stock wheels are very nice, I think i'll go for banded steelies. Poss 7" wide, and a healthy dose of slam I've got no pictures of before, but the car has been in some accident somewhere in it's life, front and rear bumper where in a terrible state, luckily I found a couple of new ones for sale in the netherlands! They got swapped over yesterday. Plans are a bit of what Ryan did with his blue K10 Micra, because I think what works on that, also works on this car!

you won't regret it if you come. We've been coming over since 2007 and loved every year of it!

i finally got it running, legal and tested last month, it does well, but i realised i'm more into smaller cars then big barges, so i think it'll be going soon. Especially as i bought a Charade G11 allready!

i might be able to do that, if MadSeb is at home friday morning! It's not a big detour, indeed. Last time i met him, i was on the massive trip to sell one car and buy another, and some details might've slipped through my mind, because in my mind it was quite a distance from where i use to drive when i'm in the UK

a gearbox from an IS200 won't work, you'd need one from a japanese Altezza RS200, which comes with a fruitier version of the 3S-FE (200 bhp 3S-GE instead of 140ish) and is a 6 speed. There are 2 other options: - gearbox from a Carina/Corolla RWD Diesel (Carina CA70 or Corolla CE70) which aren't available easy - gearbox from a 1S-U'd Carina/Corona from Japan, which also is rare. So for the price of the relatively rare gearbox, i'd say go for an easier engine, or buy an Altezza gearbox with the BEAMS 3S-GE attached to it and ditch the engine you have now

i've read all over the web that an SD1 is a curse word for air in the cooling system, and mine seems to be no exception of that! It keeps boiling over (while the temp on the gauge stays at 100 degrees) and dumping a load of coolant on the overflow pipe. Going to try some of the tips i've got from mates/websites wednesday, but i need place where i can run the engine for half an hour without neighbours complaining about the smell of unburned fuel ;D

I had a few problems with debris from the petrol tank trashing pumps so I fitted a pre-filter in between tank and pump (special one for FI - what size pipe have you got cos I bought two because I didn't know and I have the smaller size one spare if i'm correct i have the 12mm pipe. Brilliant - can't wait to see this. Don't count on that, because i keep having troubles keeping the coolant where it belongs.... Nice parking spot and occupation, you already scared the neighbours away:) I recon the car will look much better de-chromed, keeping the Vitesse striping on the sills. Normally my parents CarinaII and my Corolla are sitting there as well, to keep the neighbourhood retro, neighbours don't like it, but they can moan to somebody else, all cars parked there are legal

in the end i bought a new fuel pump, arrived last week and today was the first day it was a little bit dry, so i started on the fuel pump swap. Went easier then i expected, yay for external fuel pumps! Within an hour the pump was swapped and the car was running again! ;D

Toyota T50 First Gear: 3.587:1 Second Gear: 2.022:1 Third Gear: 1.384:1 Fourth Gear: 1.00:1 Fifth Gear: 0.861:1 And if this info is correct: www.my-acoustic.com/Car/gearbox/working/working.htm4th is prise-direct (or how it's called..) and then the counter shaft is put out of work, right? The more i look into the whole gearbox thing, the more it confuses me...

i've looked at pics from the gearbox at google and this is one i found: so the extra ratio you're talking about, is the one going from the bottom shaft back up to the output shaft or the one on the input shaft? Could be the case indeed, but strange that it's NOWHERE mentioned, and i think every gearbox works about the same, right?

Why are you driving so fast in a Corolla? Is it a racing car? I would have thought that even for track days, 185km/h should be plenty of maximum speed for most circuits. my trackday tires are a little bit smaller then the normal tires i use on street, that means i run off the clock somewhere near 3/4 of the straight. And the German autobahn is unlimited and only 2 hours away, so every now and then we hop over the border to do a topspeed run with a couple of mates to see if our modifications worked or not
