A few weeks ago, one of my best mates bought a new car. My grandparents had one exactly like that, and I was on a picture of it back in the day, so a repro had to be made: There's a 25 year difference between the pics Right from when he had it, I said: 'if you decide to sell, i'll have it' Little did I know, that 3 weeks down the line, it was for sale allready! And thus sold to me. So here it is, in all it's 1 liter 3 pot 2 speed semi-automatic glory: Interiour is proper retro and luxury! interval, rear wash/wipe etc. All of that on a base spec OAP special! Plenty of room for wider wheels, PCD is 4x110 and the stock wheels are very nice, I think i'll go for banded steelies. Poss 7" wide, and a healthy dose of slam I've got no pictures of before, but the car has been in some accident somewhere in it's life, front and rear bumper where in a terrible state, luckily I found a couple of new ones for sale in the netherlands! They got swapped over yesterday. Plans are a bit of what Ryan did with his blue K10 Micra, because I think what works on that, also works on this car!

I had a g11 turbo probably 7 years ago. It was brilliant fun. I fitted a set of xr2 pepper pots on it with no messing(4x108). Are you sure it's 4x110? The world is your oyster if it's 4x108. Love the first two pictures Ross

it's deffo 4x110, i've had the Corolla wheels on it before, but i know that the 1mm difference per stud isn't a problem. I ran Ford wheels on my Corolla before as well.

Glad to hear 4x110; same as my Honda Z I'd actually thought they were 4x114. Must have been thinking of Suzuki or later Charade.. Now you've made me want Charade wheels after I've already bought some ugly Daihatsu kei steel wheels to possibly give my Z 12" instead of 10" dia.

I think later Charades are 4x100, but i think these are very nice design for steel wheels and suit the car as well

Awesome, you bought it!
I didn't know either that these were 4x110 also. I know the Mira/Cuores are 4x110. I spotted a few cool 13" sets on some of the SA RX7's at Hoebeke. Might try and see if they sell those. Might be something for your Charade?

i think i'll stick to banded steelies. Allthough i can try to make the wheels from my Corolla fit, as they are 4x110 aswell allthough that's going to be quite challenging i guess ;D

Greetings from Finland. Nice Charade you have there. I have two G11 "cat eye" charades myself and other one i have is Daimatic as yours. Daihatsu is a "dead" manufacturer in Finland, we haven't distributor for new cars or parts in last ten years at all.
So I would like to know are spare parts for old Daihatsus easily foundable in Netherlands? Easiest way to get bodyparts for my cars is to look outside Finnish borders... Junkyards have scrapped pretty much everything they had for such a old japanese cars. What I would need is right fender and front bumper. Some NOS parts I have luckily founded and bought to my own storages...
And what comes to the bolt pattern the 4x110 sucks a lot. G100 front and rear hubs can be changed to G11. What I have heard it should be plug and play stuff to do. Unfortenately I haven't tried myself yet because we don't much salvaged G100's left either.

cat-eye, means the older style? I can get a new front and rear bumper for a pre-facelift G11. I found that out, because the new bumpers i have are pre-facelift as well, and the front isn't a 100% fit.
Technical parts aren't a huge problem, bodyparts are, but that counts for every older japanese car. Daihatsu will also stop selling cars overhere at the end of 2012, so we're going the same way as you in Finland.

I've been in suspicion that the face-lift model is the cat eye... Anyway the face lift model front bumper is the thing I'am looking for. The bumper fitment bars are also needed, old ones have rusted away... Can you tell me prices with an PM? The fitment of your pre-lift bumper is good enough for me. I have a maniac plan to install Daihatsu Sirions EJ-DE engine for MT Charade ;D I'am sorry to hear that your going also in such a hairy situation with Neatherlands dealership. I have some parts catalog microfilms for several old Daihatsus (G10, G11, Charmant, Hi-Jet etc.) and some workshop literature. If somebody needs help don't hesitate to ask Some pictures

Had 2 days in the barn, of which one day was spent on the little Charade to get it through it's APK. Before i bought it, my mate put it through a pre-APK check and got a list of fails, consisting of: - front tires worn - front brake hose cracked - front brake pipe corroded - front brake pads worn - rear brake imbalance (probably wheelcillinders leaking) - rear brake pipes corroded - balljointcover not fitted correctly - headlamp aim wrong - sidelight not working - exhaust manifold leaking As of today, i can cross off most of that list, except for the headlamp and the tires. This is how i left it today: Need to investigate in a HUGE oilleak which came up after an oil service. I found out today that i probably cracked the oil pressure sender, because that's where the oil looks like is coming from. The sender is very close to the oilfilter, so i probably hit it whilest removing the filter. Also had some fun with the roll of brake pipe... If i get it through the test, i'll use it as a winter beater, and have a little look in modifying it a bit, even though it's very nice as it is right now! I think it will look very good with 'the treatment' ;D

gtti engine would be nice, but first need to finish other things Removed the oil pressure switch yesterday and it is deffinatly leaking, so ordered a new one, €5 and it's in tomorrow, that's not too bad Also had a play with some tires I had and a tape measure. I think i'll have the rears banded by 2" and the fronts by 1,5", hopefully get it lowered as well, have to look into suspension stuff, because there's not a whole lot of info about a G11, sadly. If I can get it looking like this, i'll be happy, but offcourse it's just the tire sitting there, so the axle is at it's stock position, it will be lowered properly so the scrubline won't be a problem

Aren't we man with wheels just like women with their shoes? I had the wheels of the Corolla today, because I need to take the engine out and redo the brakes, couldn't resist trying the wheels on the little Charade I think it'll be better to have the original wheels banded. Allthough the style really suits it, they are just too wide. The rears would be ok with a fenderflare, but the front is too silly, it almost sits completely out of the arch!

ever since i've had it, the temperature wasn't staying constant and last week when i drove it for a longer time on the motorway, i had a big white cloud, no new pope, but probably a BHG. ;D
Used the car last week, and no big problems, but still decided to look in to it, and after 1,5 hour i saw that the headgasket had indeed gone between cilinder and a waterway. Monday i'll bring the head to a specialist to be refurbed and then refit it and drive it again!

Holy mother of ****! That has to be one of the ultimate cars you could pull in.
I actually love it (and I'm not being sarcastic) - would come up shed loads by being detailed (clayed, cutted, polished, sealed/waxed etc)
