Oooh, ooooh! Mazda rotary. Also Renault V6... I have an inkling the mid-engined Clio thingummy had a similar engine to the one found in the 25...possibly... also found in volvos and peugeots, one of the worst ,most unrelaible engines ever to be installed in a car.I have a mate who runs a volvo wrecker here in Brisbane who made a killing suppling replacement second hand V6's to car yards to keep volvos etc running.

no, i mean booted 2 door, like i said, they only came in the 1.3 option, and are, frankly rare as poor quality wobbly children's play pony wibblepoo, i was after one for about 5 years, but i never even heard of one for sale, let alone havig the chance to buy one! it was the only thing (may be wrong) that the 1.3 pinto came in, so once again, a rare as fook engine. MkII Capris had 1300 pintos in, not sure about the MkIII. www.motorbase.com/vehicle/by-id/-1699795868/

And don't forget all you guys who's be lost without Saab setting the way by bringing turbocharging to the masses: Been hijacked for other install more than you think too: I've even seen a trike with one, which'd be fun if the turbo spun up on a fast corner

the very first cosworth engine was a crossflow! fitted to an anglia, never release to the public of course There were Cosworth versions of the pre crossflow 1100cc Ford Kent, for Formula Junior racing in the early '60s - only know this as I've decoked the cylinder head on one!

The Ulitimate "retro " engine has to be the Mighty Chrysler Hemi, introduced in 1951 as a 331 Cube engine it grew into the 392 cubic inch version by 1957 with over 320 Hp. It was reintroduced in 1964 as the 426 cubic inch engine. Including chevs i don't think any other engine has received as much on going redevlopment and engine swapping as this beast. From Allard to what ever, many cars have been repowered with this engine. Today it's decendents are the TX top fuel engines and the new firepower hemi. From a 100hp in 1951 to 7000+ Hp today....It will eat your cross flow Fords ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D The hemi Head....

Sorry to keep dragging this thread off-topic, but Latham... You MUST mean the "Sierra Saloon" that was part of the original Sierra launch range in 1983? Came with a 1300 Pinto, but had a grey (unpainted) slatted front grille and mega basic spec (only one exterior mirror!), but could be had as a THREE door? www.crustworld.co.uk/sierra/techspec/82.html

^Not photoshop?^ MY ! You can even see where the doorhandle and slam line have been airbrushed out. The fact it's sitting in someone's photobucket account adds to it's dubiousness. I shall retain my sceptical stance. EDIT: That blue one looks decidedly 'home made' too, with the glass from an Xr4i for the back window.....

hmm, i thought that, but look through the window of that sierra and it looks too good to be a photoshop, surely if someone was that wibblepoo they couldnt even airbrush out a door handle, then through the glass would look shopped too.
like i said, i may be wrong, but there seem to be quite sources that are saying that they existed, but nothing 'officail'

No, because the tree in the back-ground falls before the 'cut-line' of the photo-shoppage.
You claim that you've found all these 'sources', and have quoted some production figures, but have failed to back these up with any references. This to me samcks of shoddy research, or that you know something we don't. Like you're wrong..... Come on, lad... sort it out!!

Hmm. The silver one is a fake, no doubt in my mind about it. As for the other one, well, it's kind of convincing but if it was made in 1982 howcome it's got the later front wings and rear tail-lamps? Home-made cut-and-shut jobbie methinks using a later Saff. I very much doubt that Ford would design a booted Sierra in 82 and then keep it quiet for years, only to relaunch it as a VERY similar-looking 4 door. Early Sierras had gutters too... Also, if it was a production model (76 made?) , why would there be nothing "official" about their manufacture? There's plenty of info about the RS1700T Escort, for example...

If these cars were produced Surley the Rear windows would be the same on all models, unless they are going for the no parts are the same look.
The Silver one has a larger top section to the rear Window, Dunno what this convo is about as its got too long for me to be arsed to read it but just thought i would mention it.
Talking about serrias though, I have been Offered a Black Late Model 4x4 What are these like, its T&T'ed for a Year no rust the interior is not bad. Was just going to use it as a Thrasher
