I don't know, I've found it somewhat difficult to find a set of 15" 4x114.3s for my T2000 that I like. It's not helped by the rears being ET0, but the fronts needing something like ET15-20. Seems to be lots of 14" wheels about, but few 15s. Selection is a bit more limited but just for you ... an updated linkAny of the split rims can be re-lipped or re-rimmed to change the offset so you can have staggered offsets.

Don't say it. Don't say it. Princess Anne had one you know. Gahhhhh. This is one of those pieces of information that everyone knows along with Swans can break you arm and Elton John's real name is Reg Dwight

Don't listen to those that will tell you that the PCD means wheel choice is vast, they have a zero offset, wheel choice is quite limited. Literally has the best PCD for choice wide low offset wheels. Yes, if you don't mind importing them. Same pcd and offset as the 240z which isn't exactly common in the UK either. The point is that, in the UK, there isn't the wide choice available that other makes enjoy. You won't find too many Scimitars running wheels from other makes, let alone after market wheels, and that is not because most owners are doddery old giffers either. I standby my statement unless you can link me to that same wide choice actually in blighty.

www.driftworks.com/wheels-and-accessories/alloy-wheels/filter/filter_pcd-4x114_3-wheel_diameter-15Good few options on Driftworks from various brands. There is a small selection out there in the used market too but prices have climbed over the past few years, there are the odd bargains now and then. Going back to the OP's point, I was having similar thoughts about Scimitars lately, seems to be some quite cheap examples out there especially compared to those other fibreglass, ford powered cars of the era, TVRs. I guess the scimitar just isn't as attractive to some and perhaps they often look better in sales photos thanks to the non rusting outer bodywork. I wouldn't mind one though, there used to be an se5 ( I think) around Coventry city centre a few years back that had a very enjoyable exhaust note 😁

Is that a Scimitar moulded to an XJ6?? Nope, took the picture from an ebay add, photoshop dropped on BBS RS. I reckon they have potentiL for some awesomeness, just need one or two to stir the imagination in others.

It's mainly me being fussy about the setup I'm after banded TR6 steels are a current favourite (also an option for a Scimitar, to stay vaguely on topic). I've also got a set of deep Weller wheels in the wrong PCD which I'm hoping to adjust to fit. Whatever it is it needs to look period and have good dish (hence the Mk1 rear end!).

This just so happened to pop up on my photo memories today, personally my favourite scimitar I've seen.

I have always thought a set of Torque Thrust wheels would look nice on a SE5, they are a bit expensive to take a punt on though, anyone fancy photo shopping a set.

Not sure that TTDs will fit easily, as Scimitars are four stud. Careful investigation of offsets / backspacing would confirm if there is space for adaptors, or whether custom hubs would be needed.
Wheel wise, I've always thought that they looked spot-on with Wolfrace slot mags (ditto MGBs). I've always liked the SE5 & 6 (and have also wondered about why they are so cheap) and the styling, but the earlier Scimitar SE4 coupes look stunning. Back in the early 2000s, someone I knew had an early, straight 6 SE4 that he was building into a rally car, to go with his Sabre Six racer - I've often wondered whether it was finished!

I know of one with a Transit diesel and 5 speed box conversion. Goes very well. Also has electrically operated rear side windows.

I wouldn't mind one, but I'd fit it with the Rover V8 is was designed for. It'd be garbage on fuel, but probably not much worse than the V6.

I'm a big Scimitar fan. I bought a massive project 5a years ago and bailed on it before finishing 😞
Then got a 5a a few years back and immediately Saab swapped it. They do lend themselves to an engine swap well with a large engine bay and stout rear axle.
I've always wondered why they aren't too popular. I think a combination of them looking tatty, curse word interiors, scary fibreglass and the Reliant badge put people off.
The Essex is quite torquey. I had a Dolomite Sprint and 5a back to back and the Essex is so much more torquey it feels quicker.
Also they aren't light, 1100+kg. The controls are heavy and the handling doesn't feel sporty.
I do think they are bloody handsome though. I'd pitch them way above the Capri, P1800 and even the Interceptor. I accept I'm in a minority here 😄
