It's been on the rear jacks since at least 2010 & windows been out since at least 2015... (I'm not local but its very easy to find on google maps ) Looking at the house, the reason it's sat for so long is either old age or illness.

Still waiting on a cancellation for a GR - top of the list with 6 dealerships now so fingers crossed.
Mini has nearly lost all it's chrome now, but I've run out of paint again. a pair of 10mm wheel spacers are sitting here to see if they will look ok - if that works then I can get another pair. Really enjoying it though, such a fun car.
Tempted to get a set of black door cards & sill covers as I can keep the cream centers and have a 2 tone interior. Mrs wants it so I think it may be staying regardless lol.

If it has non vented disks, the 306 TD calipers & disks are a straight swap - you just need the 306 caliper bolts. You get larger calipers & vented disks then. The only time thats not possible is if it has 205 GTI hubs.
For suspension, I think Peugeot Sport do (or did) group N parts

Not yet mate its the next on the list. Just as id started together some momentum i've been plagued with a bulging disc in my neck so thats put an end to things for the time being Ouch! don't envy that at all. Mrs's car was at Naths today for A/C sorting - dealer only part required, just about the full engine bay pipe/hose set up lol. Centre console wrap looks good, could always wrap the rest of the interior parts so it matches haha. Or even try laying some headlight tint film over to darken it down to match?

Is this the Polo generation with the problem concerning engines getting very easy fatal frost damage? Or is this an earlier one? Thom No idea. joem83 may know, or some of the cleverer VW guys. Never heard of that, ours have all lived outside & survived the realy cold snaps we had about 10 years ago - in fact it was the snow weather car of choice lol (mainly as my GTI didnt like snow & the polo's were already bashed and scraped).

Most likely, probably came off an engine donor. It's been the garage hack for years. I was going to give it a valet for him as a surprise but Mrs has other plans on how I spend my day off 😂 So it's doing skip runs 😂

A battery, wheel bearing, set of wiper blades, all filters, saprk plugs, & oil is £177.21 delivered from ECP
Full set of brand new budgets £247.60 fitted from black circles (I would expect about £100-£150 for part worns)
Brakes arent expensive either (part worn tyres would balance the extra cost out)
MOT £40
Total £464.81 for a fully refreshed car + your time tinkering & cleaning - if you can get it for scrap money you could easily make £800 on it and not be ripping anyone off
Plus £16 for ebay's finest tailoured mats lol

My brother-in-law has a 9N2 1.4 16v and it appears it can't be destroyed. Seems to be only rust & gearboxes that kill these tbh, that said gearbox on my 1st was noisy for all the years we had it lol

Just to add, if you start it and the manifold is blowing - they are formed/pressed - so you can weld them up or replace it (not hard)
As said above, a couple of weekends sorting all the issues, a good clean/clay/polish & a set of part worns/budget tyres and it will make someone a good little runner.
I've had 2 1.4 Polo 6n2's (earlier shape) and both were really rough - neither let me down & the last 1 I paid £100 for with 6m MOT and sold it for the same when the MOT ran out - it's still going as I saw it parked near work lol

If you can get it for peanuts and have a need for it I'd buy it. Probably a couple of weekends of tinkering and you'll have a nice little car. As said above you can always scrap it if it's too far gone. In March i got £170 for scrapping our yaris. I'm also oop North. Do you know anyone with vag com or vcds? The diagnostic tool to talk to vws. I think vcds lite is a cut down free version. Plug your laptop into it and see what it has to say for itself. I have the full version

Even as is, it's worth at least £500. Parts for these are quite specific. Probably fetch min £1500 with a MOT If you can get it for scrap and it runs, should be a easy project. It's still just a polo, so loads of info online & cheap easy to get parts. MOT history is quite good tbf, nothing unusual for a Polo. 1.4 Petrol is a dead easy lump as well

If it's cheap then it's a silly question lol. Maybe fire Gowrings an email with the reg, if it's custom built they will have a record of it & maybe able to help you with how to register it correctly
