This is a handy site for finding available tyre sizes, decent price too. CamskillThey use this to compare to what you have - scroll down for the comparison picture's Willtheyfit?215/45/15 is prety much identical rolling radius as the current 175's but with nearly zero stretch. Remember 215 is 215mm wide / 45 is 45% of the width which gives you your sidewall height

Actually thought I had posted these pics up too. And second as I would love to see it, and how joem83 wanted to see it. We know a load of stuff will need to be moved about to get this thing to run that low. But if nothing else, we will give it a bloody good go. PS: still like the wheels. Yep, yep that works. Would look awesome like that. Wheels work well too.

If you are ever stuck with wrong pegs, file the wonky one off - done it a few times and the bulb still fits & works.

Friend had a cheap Kia when they were pretty new and swore by it - nippy enough on the 1.3 but just didn’t go round corners, especially on the original tyres. Am I loosing the plot or did they originally come with whitewall tyres? Anyway cracking underdog build. James My dad loved his, yes 12" whitewalls when they came out & agree with them being nippy but handled terrible with comical suspension & an auto choke that sat at 2k

Looking forward to seeing this finished.
My dad bought a Kia Pride brand new in 92, he still had it in 2005 - I wasnt a fan & might have broke the dif a bit. He got a whole £50 trade in for it.

grizz are you still after some wheels for this? As I have just noticed in the For Sale section there are 3 sets of 205 1.9 GTI alloys that may look the part Beautiful wheels. Thank you. I doubt the offset is right on them. Offset on Pug wheels is usually similar to rwd Ford offset

100% an illusion Joe. I did not, do not use the axle stand or jack on the sill as they are imho quite soft, and probably, being 20 years old, and seem to have had attention before (possibly by the same cowboy who managed to get a previous MOT sorted) so chances are always there of a holed sill. So I use the main “chassis” beams to lift and support. Thought it must be a weird angle, had to ask as my brain would just keep wondering if I didnt lol

Nice work on the repair, can I just ask though - is it a trick of the camera or is the axle stand pushing into the cill a bit?

But when the tester came to take my keys, and told me to wear a mask (in an open area) I knew it was a fail. Have you tried taking it to the place where that Cortina Midland Performance & Retro had was taken?
