	Sooooo I’m sure I’ve had a few threads on this forum but can’t seem to find them! So thought I’d start a new one and get you guys up to speed. Here are a few projects I’ve had in the past to give you a flavor of what I’m into (wasn’t Lexus till recently).. So a brief history lesson! Mk2 Jetta before they were cool with a 2.0 8v on motorbike carbs with a cam. Mk2 gti with a 2.8 vr6 (I've actually had 3 in total) with a mods list longer than my arm (s3 brakes, autotech cams, bigger inlet, bigger TB, 6branch manifold, full exhaust, coilovers etc), 8L s3 made 280hp, B5 S4 (got brakes, lightened flywheel, RS4 clutch amongst other bits and made 330hp). Then onto the daihatsu quirky kei car nuggety dreamboat, all was well and I’d started tidying it up a modding (big massive splitter on the front and compomotive M05 wheels and then someone rear ended it and it got written off! About the same time I started working from home.... Que! The big daft Lexus! Now my mate Matt has always banged on about how good they were (but always robbed the engine out of them) so I thought I’d surprise him and myself by going and buying one! (He’s been a bad influence on my need to mess and you’ll see why soon). So here’s some pictures of the offending article... I’ll get on to the small jobs I’ve done and what the plans fornthe car are next post..

	Sooo all was well in the world and I was enjoying the nice comfy ride on BC coilovers and the v8 doing 20mpg amongst having a few little niggles to fix. Sorted the interior lights and replace the integration relay. Made and sorted a stripped seat recliner bar out. Fitted and wired some clear USDM sidemarkers in. Fitted and bought a new (to me) OEM Steering wheel and minted the interior up. Easy peasy. Then one of the seats decided it wanted to gangster lean and strip the threads out of the recliner poll (ally pole and hardened steel male splines) so that go sleeved and fixed! The resistor for the interior lights in the integration relay also blue so a new (old) one got soldered in very carefully to the 30 year old PCB and I had working interior lights again! Result (don't fit stupid LEDS to your interior lights kids cause you think it looks cool, it'll just break the integration relay and you'll swear) Also spent some time correcting the pretty solid 30 year old paint! (You might remember me being the “mate” who had to sort Matt’s IS200 paint out) Now this is where my mate Matt comes in again and ruins my easy life.. We’ve been building this in his garage for the past year and have always joked about sticking a blower on my ls400 for the curse word and giggles.. Sooo this week I dug out my spare lower inlet and sent a cad file off and we’ve got the start of my supercharged Ls400 project What have I got myself in for...

	Also in other news Matt will be having my aftermarket wide boy wheels that came on the car, sure he’ll be fitting some 225 and 265 tyres respectively to replace the elastic band ones that are on them at the moment, I’ve bought these marmite affairs that will be going body color white faces and shiny centres for a more OEM+ sleeper kinda vibe (the silver LS pic is a nice example to use)

	Well I’ve had an absolute nightmare with these wheels I bought, they’re ducked. All the bolts have corroded in and I’ve never seen a worse set of wheels paint wise ever. No wonder they were cheap as chips! Anyway I’ve made progress none the ness. I’ll need a new set of bolts as I had to get the Irwin extractors out just to take the Centre caps off but a few hours sanding and were looking something like! More tomorrow...

	Thought some of those cars looked familiar. Lexus looks mint, saw it parked up with the black rims on 👍

	Not much to report on the car! Sold most of my expensive bits just before there lockdown but decided I wanted a little project and whilst cleaning the boot out found the aftermarket amp just chucked under the spare wheel and the worlds shonkiest wiring! There was also a little surface rust round a boot floor grommet the power cable was run through so that got sorted at the same time too! Made a false floor out of some MDF and made a threaded bar stay to secure it all down. Gave it a lick of varnish/carpet feet and wired it up properly, job done.

	Found a guy breaking a local car and it had rear cup holders in factory matching wood. My car being poverty spec it never came with them. Had to knock a homemake blank up for the heated rear seat switch (mine has neither front or back and I’ll probably get this modeled and 3D printed at some point and run a usb charger to the rear through it). Cleaned up the Beige velvet to get the stains out an popped it in the car.

I sold the upper inlet adaptor to a guy with a 1UZ hotrod and decided that id rather manual swap the car instead. Ive slowly been amassing spares at my mates house just need to pull the trigger on a conversions kit from Lexibreak and an MR2 flywheel. Just waiting to see what happens with the virus and also saving for a house at the same time is making me a little more reluctant to pull the trigger on expensive things just yet

	Certainly cleanest one I've seen in a long time. Actually saw it up close as pulled in behind it to sort my sat nav out (outside nursery)

	Been on the lookout for more quirky Japanese bits for this during lockdown and managed to get hold of a few bits from the motherland (might not be to everyone’s tastes). Found an electric light up parking pole from a UCF11 Toyota Celsior and had to have it. It’s not fitted yet but came with the bracket for It to bolt straight on to my UCF10. Just need to get the power probe round it and bench test It make sure it works. I’ll make a nice wiring loom and find a decent switch for inside the car too (love some Japanese tatt 🤘🏻) Then I came across some celsior 1 piece headlights randomly on eBay and snagged them too. Instead of being a seperate full beam they’re all 1 and look a lot cleaner in my opinion. Had to make a little piggy back loom/adaptor to not have to mess with the wiring for the full beams but they were a straight swap. They come with built in quirky yellow caps over the full beams as part of the light too 🤷🏻‍♂️. Went to do some exercise and bumped into my mate with his factory manual 1JZGTE Toyota mark2, so took a pick of both Toyota barges together as you would! (social distancing rules adhered to) Went for a walk with my brother (he’s a commercial advertising photographer by trade) so he took some fancy snaps for me too. Thanks guys!

Yeah the engine is smooth as you like I agree with that, its had the back boxes chopped off and some nice proper stainless steel bits made and fitted. Thinking of having another box removed and replaced with more stainless steel to get it a little louder.
