It's a great site, used them many times for my Honda Legend and more recently for my Chrysler Crossfire. Sometimes the prices are so low you have to wonder how it's possible 😂 but generally speaking i've always had decent quality parts from them You say low, I say the prices for parts in the UK is too high 😂

Mattig bodyfits for astra and nova That top one is basically just an Astra wishing it was a Cosworth Escort. Nice thing all the same I’m thinking it probably predates the RS Cosworth..

3RD that, ordered ABS sensors for my Jeep GC because they were much cheaper than anyone in the UK. I received the wrong parts, (GM turn signal lever and autobox safety switch), the right parts arrived 3 days after the email was sent at no extra cost. And then the Jeep fixed itself! So they're still in the drawer. If you need a turn signal lever or safety switch for a 80's GM product, I've got some you can have for P&P. What’s the PN for the NSS switch, mine can’t be bothered to put the reverse lights on sometimes and I wonder if it fits my Jeep 😂

Yup, rock auto have been a staple of my purchase history what with owning an XJ Cherokee. Shipping with fedex is usually pretty quick.

The lack of any kind of retro content probably did it. There is a line, and like the thread about boiler repairs, it’s kinda toed it.

I got a cheap soldering station from Screwfix to do LEDs with as my gas iron kills them, gets too hot and it’s been great. Make sure you tin the tip before each solder and keep the tip clean between use and it should perform well.

Radiator sealing liquids, any work?Rich

The radiator on my Allegro 1500 has started leaking, it's not peeing out, but it has a sizeable damp patch, if that makes sense. Anyway, over a nice cup of tea this lunchtime my efforts to find a new one proved fruitless, soy thoughts turned to some kind of sealer. So, I ask you knowledgeable lot if there's one that works 'better' than others? I've seen a few radweld, Kseal, Barr's. Of course, if you know of a new radiator then I'd appreciate that too. Cheers chaps. The issue with sealers is they will often coat the inside of everything and leave anything from lumps of slime blocking the rad and matrix core to solidify into a lump blocking the thermostat (I’ve seen it all, trust me) and don’t get me started on K seal. Will look like someone’s grated a copper pipe into your radiator and you’ll never get rid of it. Great as a bodge on something you don’t really care about but yea. I wouldn’t advise unless you are really REALLY stuck.

Tow bars and towing rulesRich

No test required for a car trailer and the towbar is part of the MOT so should show up any issues. Corrosion to the towbar and mounts are what is generally tested, it doesn’t and won’t prove a towbar is safe.

The main differences between this and motorcycle engines are that a lawn tractor engine is designed to be cheap and operate for all of its life in a very narrow, comparatively low RPM window. Push them outside of this and often enough you’ll find they will suffer with violent unexpected self-disassembly syndrome. They aren’t engineered the same as a motor vehicle engine and in most cases won’t run like one.

From what I understand, building a legal car is a lot easier for you guys if you use a existing unmodified chassis. A lotus Elan +2 is less than 1.5" off the 2CV wheelbase, and they sell repro chassis' And a MX5 engine & gearbox would be great to push it down the road... You’d still need the Elan +2 ID though.

The MX-5 is like a Lotus Elan in that its two subframes can be connected and the self-supported remains could theoretically be driven, yes? And the 2CV is a separate chassis vehicle. It may just be possible to register it as a rebodied MX-5, y'know... Not quite. The chassis spine isn’t really enough to keep it rigid enough as it links the gearbox to the diff and the subframes just follow albeit floppily because they are attached to the engine and differential.

Thanks to some fantastic RR pony express action from markbognor and HARDCORE my 206SW has some slightly more angry eyes this week. Christ, you don't hang around! (for everyone else's benefit; I delivered these on Sunday, and they were burgundy) Proposal: 😂 One step further, I propose that but as the Peugeot Lion.

Thanks to some fantastic RR pony express action from markbognor and HARDCORE my 206SW has some slightly more angry eyes this week. Also, Morette are the best people I’ve ever had to deal with regarding parts. Was struggling to set up the optics properly as there are 3 adjustments, emailed them at 8pm the night I fitted them and had had a reply by half 8 the next morning with what the specific adjusters were and the best method to ensure the projector optics were centred and aligned. Bearing in mind I had bought the parts second hand, they were more than happy to assist. Really top guys.
