It's common on mk3 fiestas to get a stiff UJ causing this. If you jack the front wheels all the way off the floor, spin the wheel and it's tight everyone/2 or full revolution with no relation to where the front wheels are pointing it's probably a UJ.

Baby wipes will leave all kinds of oil and soap and stuff on the surface.
Panel wipe really isn't that expensive providing you Don't buy the individually packaged wipes from halfords (about £4 for 3 wipes!!!!). Go to a proper refinishing suppliers and you'll be able to buy 5l of panel wipe for about a tenner and a pack of blueroll/paper towels for about the same. It'll last you years.

106s don't have an airflow meter, they use a MAP sensor which seem to work perfect or not at all.
Lambda on that second test is 1.6 which really must be due to a leak, cos an engine wouldn't run anywhere like properly with that little fuel - it's 24:1!
An exhaust blow will pull almost as much air in as it leaks out, hence it looking mega super lean. Fixing the leak should sort the Lambda value.
The CO value is most likely down to a weak CAT, if the Lambda sensor has been dodgy for a while you'll have damaged the cat - It's worth absolutely hammering the car round for half an hour and get the cat stinking hot just prior to the test. I've had Saxos and 106s pass the emissions test with no cat at all, but the engines were sweet as a nut, always serviced up and all the sensors were cock on.
Your HC and CO figures looked better by the second test which is probably due to the cat having warmed up a bit by then, but it could be down to the fact that there was loads of fresh air diluting the reading!
A 1999 106 will have the cat under the car near the gearstick

I've used them a few times, they subcontract out to the usual few couriers. Big heavy curse word like gearboxes ended up going by TNT, smaller stuff was a mix. Watch for added charges at the last minute just as you click confirm!

Yup, the normal flexy you posted first needs to be kept more or less straight, it's only designed to absorb vibration and engine movement under load. The second flexy you posted is designed to be bent at more of an angle, but they are pretty pants and leak and end up blowing after not too long.
Just get a proper bit of pipe bent, or wedge cut some straight pipe and make it into a bend.

I've been a few times cos I'm fairly local - It's worth a trip, there's absolutely loads of stuff but it does get quieter as the weather gets colder. You'll still spend a couple of hours there if you really pore over it and it's great for buying consumables like cable ties, thinners, matt black rattlecans, blue roll etc etc.

Once it's dried out it won't really leave enough of anything that would worry me. Blow it through with an airline for a few minutes or even a hot air gun to make sure there's nothing left in the corners.
You could use something a bit more volatile that'll evaporate a lot quicker like some cheap celly thinners if you don't want to leave a residue, but you could damage something if it's got plastic end caps. Brake cleaner would also work and is fine with most plastics, but it's a bit expensive to be dumping litres of it through an intercooler if you buy it in aerosols. It's a lot more reasonable in 5L drums (IIRC about £12)

Can you take the cooler off? If so just plug one end, chuck a few cupfuls of petrol in and give it a swill round. Rinse/repeat until the petrol comes out clean, job jobbed.

It's proper "Curse word" to see this happen, I know I was gutted on my first crash. Honestly that doesn't look really that bad of a knock and it's only metal - if it bends one way it'll bend the other with enough swearing. The inner wing might be pulled in a bit because of the front panel being pushed in, but they will push back with very little force when you weld the new one on. For example, my pal bought a saxo and the front crossmember was absolutely buckled, pulling the chassis legs in by 20mm or so. We cut it off and the legs sprang out about halfway to "right" on their own, and it didn't take much at all to straighten them to where they should have been, I sat in the engine bay and pushed them apart with my on one wing and my leg in the other - Chassis legs are long so it's easy to tip one in, but getting them back where they should be doesn't take a lot of force really. I'd be surprised if this knock has pushed the front wheels out of line, I wouldn't stress over that - Get it back to casa angyl ASAP, get the angyl grinder out on the donor motor (measure all kinds of things as a reference first) and get on it!

This brake efficiency percentage - is it basically horizontal force of the brakes VS overall weight, or weight over that axle? Is the weight measured by the brake machine or off a chart? I've had cars with functionally real curse word handbrakes pass with flying colours, and cars with really good ones fail. My Lupo had a cracking handbrake, new cables and mechs and pads all adjusted to VW specs from ELSA and it failed on insufficient reserve travel" but it would lock the back wheels up from speed at 4 clicks
