A man approx 5ft8” in height knocked on the owner’s door at 3PM on Sunday 8th May enquiring who owned the vehicle, a neighbour told them that the owner was away on holiday, the man walked away & in the early hours the car disappeared. The man drives a blue Vauxhall 7 seater. Ffs, idiots

I changed all the shockers on my golf in my garage, the top mounts had to come off for that so yes, you should be able to do it.
An extra pair of hands helps!

Yep... If it's at home, concrete a ground anchor in and chain the curse word down. I still wouldn't think twice about using a stoplok/ disklok as a visible deterrent for opportunists. Anything that'll make them think twice at a show/ meet/ car park or whatever can't be a bad thing. If someone's truly decided to have your car away, replacing a steering wheel wheel as a trade-off to inconvenience them sufficiently to stop an all out theft is a small price to pay imo, especially if it's then backed up with yet more obstacles. I put my disklok on everywhere, even at car shows. You can't be too careful.

One of our own parked up in Howarth today. JohnRH's 245. Immaculate doesn't do it justice. I know the seven series next to it isn't really retro but it was really tidy so I didn't want it to feel left out. I saw that on Sunday on my way to work! It's frigging beautiful!

When the brakes were going on my Jag, it was the servo at fault. They didn't have the intermittent period that you describe but it never lost any fluid and the car took an age to bring to a stop.

After I eventually found it, I think the sale price will be impacted by how badly it's listed unfortunately

A mate of mine daily' done for 6 months or so recently. It was still quick but he sold it due to the fuel consumption.
They like to under steer in the corners aswell, he replaced it with an Audi S3 which he absolutely loved in comparison.

You'd struggle to ever get that one removed, it's got more car left than any of the others we see on here!
It's desirable to a crim, but not desirable to someone looking to make their car tax free. It's also not particularly rare like a "lotus" cortina or escort "Mexico" so I doubt it will get many people bidding.

Do the boxes not have a part number on? You should be able to google that.

I loved mine, only sold it because the timing belt went and I couldn't get it running properly again.
Check all the electrics, Check the rear arches, Check for water leaks in the boot.
That's about it!

The DVLA knows you're the new keeper because the reference number on the new keeper slip is different to the reference number of the log book.
If you're taxing online, you also pick the "I have a new keeper slip" option.

To conclude this, I serviced it myself today and found the following issues...
Mix and match spark plugs, a variety of brands and types, paired with an assortment of genuine and aftermarket coil packs. So no, the stamps don't mean anything! Lol

My grandad had one of these recently, it was an elite and what impressed me most was the heated seats front and rear, and the electric rear blinds! My jag didn't have that!

Thanks guys, had a look at big red and their site doesn't seem to cater for any pre 1980 minis. I can get everything from MiniSpares though.
