Biggest problem I experience with my phone is lack of signal. I drove from Whitehaven to Barrow last week without any signal, that's a good hour drive on 50/60 mph roads. Luckily it was well signed but I was trying to get to the M6 without going all the way down the coast!
Same thing again today when I was trying to find a petrol station from the middle of no where.
My old sat nav would always pick something up!

How does that work, I have got a transit off a mate and he can't find the logbook, I thought I would have to pay for a new logbook. Bryan only free if you have the green new keepers section Just send a covering letter saying p/o lost it. For all the stuff they mess up, it's suprising how easy it is to get things off the DVLA with just a letter!

I think since the tax rules changed again - if you go to the post office and fill in a lost log book form you can tax it at the same time - I THINK If I have lost the log book and its in my name. It is not. Alas. You can apply for a new log book online, just tick new keeper. Doesn't help your tax situation but I've never seen the post office form!

What are the legalities of getting something like this on the road? Say you turn a small hatchback into a speedster, keeping the same engine. Will it need an IVA? If you cut the roof off, you've then modified the monocoque.

The link is about unorganised events, which are usually the ones which get messy.

I don't really understand, had he applied for a replacement log book then? So why would he knock you £50 off? As a new keeper it's actually free for you to apply for a new log book.
Ultimately the DVLA have somehow been notified of the sale, either through a log book application or by the previous owner just getting in touch. You COULD be charged for April's tax now, but I've never seen it happen.

I had to drive an hour from Whitehaven to Barrow-in-Furness this week with no phone signal. Felt like a boss actually navigating from road signs to find the M6! Lol

Not sure why the difference but the top mounts on my MK3 cabrio looked like the ones on the right.

I've started using waze for work as I can't find my sat nav. The biggest issue with using my phone is that the battery is empty after 3 hours constant use. So I have to keep it plugged in which then means I can't use other things in the car. With regard to locations, even the waze app will take me to the delivery entrances of businesses or drop me off at a junction overlooking my location lol. It's not the sat nav's fault, it doesn't have a brain! Haha I already have a twin USB, but my FM transmitter runs straight from an AC socket, not a USB. I'd get one of the adaptors but I don't like how untidy they look and tbh, there's not really anywhere to mount one in the car, the only storage compartment it has is the glove box. I just listen to the radio instead if I'm charging my phone.

Wow, I just googled the NHTSA number in the OP, this exact same thread has been posted on The Samba, VW Vortex and shoptalkforums this week. Lol, people can use more than one forum!

Footman James do a "collectors policy" rather than a traders one, I don't know if it has any age limits for the car though.

It feels like cars have gone from not lasting anywhere near 100,000 miles, then surpassing it and are now on the way back down! Haha
My MR2 is almost ready to join the Toyota high mileage club which starts at 150K, trouble is, the engine in it is supposed to be scrap before then according to the Internet!

I think if you just push the like button again, your 'like' will disappear. I think he means the comment rather than the like! Lol

Comments like that make me laugh. My parents own a classic car and they have no idea how many get nicked simply because they don't use the Internet.
It seems that it's only being brought to light through forums or Facebook, so I'd guess that the majority of older owners wouldn't have a clue either. So you never told them then........... That's an argument weaker than milky tea. All the cars on here, with the very odd exception, have been owned by people that are fully aware of the value, at the very least. I'm over 50 and own classic cars so how old do I need to be to not have a clue? That's a massively disparaging statement to 'older owners.' I suppose if you are in your 70s you have never heard of t'internet or ever bought motoring publications.
What do you think the elderly do? Sit in their own wee?? That generation is one of the key drivers of our hobby, they are building cars on here and charging around the country in Rover P4s and Austin Healeys. They are the generation with the time and disposable income and the hobby needs them. Your parents are in a small minority, your assertion holds no water. The vast majority are also VERY computer literate, I know that for a fact. They are sharper than we are!
I havnt told them no, the car lives in an alarmed garage attached to the house and gets driven maybe 3 times a year, one of those times is to its MOT. It's not an ageist comment at all, I didn't say that people COULDN'T use the Internet, I just said they didn't. My parents have an iPad, do they use it? Not very often, they're usually out doing things with their lives, not like me spending my time refreshing "cars for sale" every 15 minutes! Of all the people I know who are of their age or older, I'd say it's pretty much a 50/50 split between those who are active online and those who are not. Suprisingly enough, some people actually want to do things rather than gawp at Facebook all night. But continue telling me that me own experience is wrong, I'm sure it will return the missing Anglia.

? Has the owner been living in a cave for the last year and not realised that we are in the middle of an epidemic of stolen classics? Comments like that make me laugh.
