I used to keep a mini at my mum and dads, just because we didn't have room at home with my other 3 cars. One day whilst we're there, my gf asks "what's under the cover?"... Erm... That's mine?
LOL!
It lives at home with us now haha.

The only red herring is at times the car will only run on 3 cylinders on start up sometimes, but it always goes to running on 4 after a few minutes. I have a spare set of injectors which I may give a go, but I'm wondering if I should get them in an ultrasonic bath first or try some injector cleaner/V-Power in the fuel tank - I've only ever run it on supermarket fuel but again I cannot see it being an issue. :/. My MR2 developed an intermittent misfire not long after I bought it. It would run rough but be cured sometimes by a blast on the motorway. Anyway, I changed the plugs, changed the injectors and even changed a coilpack, nothing fixed it. Since I cleaned the MAF sensor a few months ago, it hasn't uttered a splutter since!

I've had a couple of troublesome fuel injected cars. From experience, some will happily run with an aftermarket sensor but others, my mini and MR2 for example, either won't, or need a specific brand.
Have you asked any other MX owners? The MR2 club has members who know which will work and which won't.
The only other thing I could suggest would be to clean the air flow sensor. You can get electrical contact cleaner from Halfords for £5 and it made a massive difference to the running of my car!

I guess this is supposed to be some take off of Top Gear, but I just don't get it....

I find it hard to imagine a time when an E Type wasn't desirable but I can't deny the evidence. I tried a bit of back of the envelope maths on that figure. A copy of a magazine (Custom Car) cost 60p in 1980, compared to £4.50 today so that's an increase of 7.5 times over 36 years. By that same rate the Jaguar would be worth £3750 in today's money. Makes me wonder what Classic/ retro cars you could buy for that now and will they appreciate at a similar rate to an E Type in the future? When my grandad was a car dealer in the 60/70's he had loads of stuff which he couldn't sell due to no demand that would be worth money now! Amongst the usual mk1 escorts and big Jag's, he's had a handful of Lotus Cortina's for example and probably scrapped/broke half of them for engines/running gear to go in more roadworthy cars. He once used a ford consul to help his mate fill in an underground garage! Lol

If we put the required 40p on petrol by abolishing VED, that means you'll only be able to drive about 380 miles a month in your car (assuming 35mpg) or just 230 in your smaller engined car before you end up worse off paying extra tax in fuel. Pretty much what I said last time this thread came up. It would make all my cars financially unviable, I can easily do 500 miles in a week.

Last night's episode had the best Evans segment so far. You can't argue with "the people" though.

Valuing and selling them are two different things, I've seen some listed on the usual sites for years.
It's like when people sell a car for £1000 but the plate is "worth £900", they're never happy to keep the plate and take £100 lol.

My MR2 has 2 effectively, they're joined around the holes. When fitting aftermarket exhausts, the steer is to re-use them as they're far superior to aftermarket gaskets!

I've never heard that with a ZT, does it have non standard alloys?
The only two bits of advice I've had for them is, get an auto and get a V6. Avoid all others.

Think I have my answers here. Looks like another (more practical) Rover is required Get a 75/ZT tourer. They're cheap as chips at the moment and you can get them with heated leather and electric everything!

What mileage was the HG done? Smaller engines such as the 1.1 and 1.4 last much longer than the 1.8.
If you get one, budget and keep some money aside for a HG change. As much as you'll look after it, others won't have, so it could go regardless.

I've found their stuff hit and miss in the past. Had a few things which weren't printed very clearly. All depends on the original image though!

I much prefer these to mini's but they don't command the same money. Things have changed now, I couldn't get an elf/hornet in the same nick as my mini for its value. I'd love one!

I like it, I even liked Eddie Jordan which surprised me! Although it does feel more like The One Show with the awkward humour injections. The only thing I don't like, as I didn't with the old new tg, is the facisnation with celebrities. Half of both Extra Gear episodes have been celebrity interviews, who cares?
iPlayer has its advantages there, skip.
