I thought this weeks episode was pretty poor. The first two shows were okay and moving in the right dercetion but apart from the Fiat 124 feature this episode failed. The Golf bit being a complete fail from the off. I didn't rate it this week either, I think I've gone off Rory's presenting style, it's too awkward.

When I had my Metro, I had this great idea to dig out all my cassettes and play them on the genuine 1992 aftermarket cassette player which wasn't even the main dealer option!
Anyway... time had not been kind to them and the playback quality was awful. I scrapped the idea and put them all back where I found them.

I can't believe it's such a bad thing TBH, I've been using screwdrivers and pliers to drop jacks for years...
I'm not dead yet... but I have recently bought my first ever new jack so I actually have the matching handle lol.
The skill is getting a jack which leaks, you never need to let them down!

I've got a car that I rarely use and the battery is regularly flat. Fixed it this week by taking the fuse out of the clock!

Hi everyone,
I'm after a bonnet for my mini, MK2 onwards (with a lip).
Had a look through eBay and nothing amazing on there at the moment.
As close to Halifax as possible but don't mind travelling. Colour also not important but Tahiti Blue would be immense!
Cheers

I've also noticed that insurers don't like to process an agreed value based on appreciation either. I know how much I bought my mini for and I know how much I've spent on it over 10 years. But it's currently worth more than that just due to the appreciation in the value of minis over recent years.

On the last quote I had for my daily, they didn't ask how much I paid, but had a box for "vehicle value" instead. I couldn't change this value but it was far more than I paid!
Edit: that wasn't FJ though.

I bought one of those tile grout replenishing pens and the hour it took to do my bathroom was less repetitive, tedious and boring. I will accept a picture of a cat as penance for my negative post. Thankyou in advance 😸 How would you know if you didn't watch it? 🤔

I don't think an S-Type would touch that MPG though, my diesel only ever did on a motorway only run and you can't get a 2.0 ltr petrol.

for that kind of mileage, it has to be diesel. or move house. Not necessarily, I do just over 300 miles a week in a CLK200 and that's getting 32-36 MPG a week.

There's no law saying they have to give it you but it sounds like a fault at their end rather than a misleading quote.
I bought a 924 at 21 and struggled to get it insured anywhere. The only people who would touch it were Lancaster and I think it was cheaper than my current modern!

Apparently A8's are extortionate to run from a servicing point of view. I'd say get an e-class but a mate of mine recently had a 5 series and it was perfect!

You don't always have to get them fitted professionally. If you fit it yourself you can usually have it checked by a professional and signed off for insurance purposes. That's what I did with a CAT2 one which came in my Audi 80.

tl:dr Reccomend an immobiliser and tracker which will work abroad. I'm taking my mini to Ireland later this year and although I'm aware it's not a Mk1 Escort, I'm terrified of losing it in another country! It currently has an aftermarket immobiliser which, after careful investigation (starting the car with it armed), I've realised doesn't work! I've had two cars in the past with decent immobilisers and funnily enough, both have been Autowatch ones like the link below. www.autowatch.co.uk/products/autowatch-immobiliser-systems/18-autowatch-173ppi-immobiliser-24-volt-systemWhat are people's thoughts on them? I know it won't stop it being lifted but it would help me isolate the ignition without just wiring a switch in. And finally, has anyone got real world experience of trackers? I don't have a massive budget but I worry that the home brew phone ones are either simple to confuse, unreliable or won't work abroad. Cheers!

The only thing that stops me having one is that they can only be used with aftermarket wheels, generally the ones I don't like! Fair point. The snap off part shouldn't have an impact on what aftermarket wheel you can fit, as they generally have bolt arrangements to suit various aftermarket boss's ie Momo, Sparco, Raid etc... I don't have an aftermarket wheel though. If someone could create one for standard wheels then they'd be quids in!
