The work it needs (new scuttle and front end) is likely to unearth other bits which need replacing due to rust that are currently hidden. It’ll probably need a full respray as well.
I’d say you’re looking at around £2K max £2.5K depending on MOT and the quality of the floors/sills, I appreciate that it’s got a lot of aftermarket bits on but unfortunately they don’t add masses of value. Personalised Minis are harder to sell than standard ones.

Drop me an email at adoequipment at gmail.com we’ve had a couple of cars in for breaking recently and still have a good % of stuff left.

That corrosion advisory is obviously to keep the mot authorities happy...just advise anything for brownie points On a slightly different twist, I loved the tester I used when I was a teenager, keep the man talking about Alfa romeos and he’d forget all about your car give you the full history of racing Alfa’s....then pass your escort cortina etc without even looking at it further than the tyres .....sorry to go of topic a bit !!! This is the only reason I got to the same place a few times a year. Get them talking whilst looking at a suspicious area and you’re golden! Haha

Came to fame last year with a video of it towing this Mazda... Believe it was then “employed” by Bentley this year for promo.

Need to buy one 60 plate or newer, that’s when they updated most of the issues. Same with the diesels.

These are just standard wheels rather than Cooper ones?

Is anyone reporting stuff like this? Surely that’s an easy one to trace as it has the number visible?

I had a mare getting the box back on my 172 when it was on the floor. Was much easier when I lifted the block onto the bench and suspended the box off the engine crane. Doesn’t help if it’s in the car like!

The price I can understand, it's the excess of £2600,in one case, that amazed me, I know insurance is a con anyway but really? ? Ohhh, mine had a grand excess 😆

Seems the usual price to me tbh. I paid more to bring my 205 back home last week and I’m older.

Been a while since I had a car worthy of making a thread about, I’ll probably need to ask plenty of questions in here as well! I’ve been hillclimbing over the last couple of years and sharing a Clio 172 with my brother. It’s cheap, plenty fast enough and I’ve been able to learn a fair bit whilst also being quicker than some faster cars! Anyway, it’s doing my head in because it’s temperamental. So I started looking for something that wouldn’t need plugging in when it broke! Plan was to use a mini that I already own, however these aren’t particularly competitive and I probably don’t want to bin something that I’ve already got a lot of money in. 205 shopping ensued, these seem to smash both the road going classes that I enter and have the simplicity I wanted. Days of googling worked out the XS was the one to get. 1.4cc engine, alloy block makes it lighter than a rallye, short speed box and twin choke carb. Picked this up last night for £950 which, looking at eBay, seems to be a bargain! Previously ran a 2.0 Mi16 but is now back to the XS spec. I believe the exhaust manifold is uprated and people have told me the carb isn’t correct, it’s a twin choke Weber though so surely that’s an upgrade?! Plans are, cam belt change as there’s no history, good service including the carb, get some alloys for it and find some original interior instead of the GTi one currently in. I’m hoping those arches will come off without any drama! Any advice appreciated, it’s my first Peugeot after all!

Interesting to know - are there any other such areas to keep an eye on? The bootlid in general, Cooper S’ suffer worse than any others due to the spoiler.
