Hamilton won't let Netflix show footage of him at the German GP when he was ill (he had a sore throat). “I probably won’t be in it much as I was sick the whole time and I won’t allow them to release me being sick probably so I won’t even be in it.” I guess he doesn't want to spoil his "image". I came here just to post that 😆😆

Good condition, new parts recently fitted, alternator, core plugs, dizzy upgrade. A-Series block with A+ gearbox and MG head. Non-standard engine number suggests it’s had work done in the past, but I couldn’t confirm. £550 collected from Halifax, can palletise.

Pininfarina pen’d this as an Austin 1100 replacement, BMC turned it down and it became the Citroen CX/GS!

When the Mini was at the prototype stage, they reduced the engine size from 948cc to 848cc because the engineers felt the prototypes were too fast for the general public. Apparently they easily did over 90mph, which considering that most small cars struggled to make 70 at the time was probably a good idea, given that nobody really knew what the 10-inch tyres would do at speed. Also, the prototypes were known as "orange boxes" because they were painted bright orange... When Issigonis went to Dunlop to get the wheels made, he knew he wanted 10 inch wheels but opened with 8 inch so they would haggle with him back to 10! 😆

If you're building in radiator clearance... you're going the right way! That mini isnt just a roof chop is it? Look at the gap between the headlights and the indicators, there isnt one! Quite heavily sprinted id imagine. Makes the headlights look huge too. Probably why some of the original sprints had rectangular headlights, authough I seem to remember they had rectangular headlights to raise the bean pattern. Which remind me of Yeah it’s a sprint.

My mate has just sold a Cooper S and got a ZR160. Cheaper to run, cheaper to buy and has more doors 😆 . They don’t feel like they were both made in the same year though! I considered getting one when I was building a track car, but a clio came along cheap.

Ten tuned cars secured on motorway rest area On the evening of May 16 th (Thursday), the highway police stopped the journey of ten Britons (20 to 31 years old) at the rest area Frechen-Süd on the A4 to a tuning meeting. The policemen ensured the dangerously "souped-up" cars with the participation of the specialists of the race project. Today an expert deals with the vehicles. The conspicuous vehicles of the brands BMW, Honda, Seat, VW and Mercedes were highway patrol officers at 19 clock at the rest area. Even at first glance, they found, among other things, the not permissible in Germany combination of significantly lowered chassis and wheel spacers. At some of the cars, the wheels were beyond the bodywork. On several cars, the chassis were also lowered so far that it came to full contact of the wheel and body (photos). This can be clearly recognized by the massive sanding marks on the tire or the rubber wear on the wheel arch (photo). Further serious changes and deficiencies in the exhaust systems, the mufflers and the built-in bulbs of the cars take the experts today under the microscope. ________________________________

GM ignition barrel with 2 keys and tag, part numbers 316966 and GM91122042. I don’t know what models it’s for but google suggests it’s a variety of Vauxhall, Opel and Suzuki. Looks very similar to the one in my Rascal? Never been used, does have some storage marks, great overall condition. £80 posted in the UK. e

I’ve used Kwik Fit as a budget leak test on two cars. Annoyingly on the most recent they didnt find a leak, but the system was empty again after a couple of weeks. So it’s not always that helpful!

I read on FB that the ad was posted by the original owner, the car was sold and then stolen whilst being transported to the new owner.

I’ve got the exact same issue on a clio at the moment. I’ve put some big fuel pipe round it with jubilee clips on each end. It’s still leaking out, but not as fast.
I’m going to get it tig’d up when I get time.

It’s a common failure point on S-Type Jags. Mine had an error message the whole time I owned it, but only stuck on once. Did the old “turn it off and on again” to fix it.
My brothers golf has one which for some reason makes hill starts difficult. Maybe it’s just the VW ones?

My CLK daily does the same thing, leaks oil from the cam sensors into the engine loom. Cannot be fixed once it’s started and naks up the fuelling.
I’ve spent the last few months changing various sensors but it seems ever more likely that the loom is borked.
