How about an A35/A40? Great cars, with many parts common to the MG Midget, so plenty of scope for interchangability/uprating. Or how about a Viva? HA would be the '60s era that you seem interested in, but the HB came out in '66 if you want a later '60s ride.

That JU250 looks like a Cotswold. They came with posh crockery as standard. So many cool cars there, I can't pick a favourite. Must go to this one year.

Has to be the widest, lowest, fattest looking one of these I've ever seen. Love it. It's amazing how much difference losing the grille badge has made.

What about...... Fitting a modern BMW twin cam head onto a 1275cc A series? It's doable, but very expensive.

Yep, 4". I've not seen that blue Countryman on Superlites before...got any more details? Are those UK 'plates? Yup, UK plate - DVLA says... The enquiry is complete The vehicle details for JBF 520D are: Date of Liability 01 10 2010 Date of First Registration 03 01 1966 Year of Manufacture 1966 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1198CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Licence Not Due Vehicle Colour BLUE Nice wagon! That's interesting. 1198cc doesn't correspond to any A series lump. If it's not a typo (i.e. should be 1098cc), then this requires closer examination. Anyone know anything? Oh and Akku, you need an A35 in your life.

The Minor engine bay is very wide and deep, but not very long. Zetec and K series won't fit without cutting. Fiat Twincam officially needs front crossmember 'adjustment', but I have a theory that with careful measurement you might be able to avoid this. Ford X-flow will fit without cutting as long as you use a remote oil filter. PPC did a 'how-to' on this a while back. If you're prepared to swap afew bits about (pulleys/water pump etc.) then a Toyota 4AGE will fit without cutting. PPC featured a traveller with this in a while back. It all depends how much power you want, how much work you want to do, and the budget of course.

The Mopar small blocks are pretty bulky, however you could follow the earlier direction taken by Rootes and use a small-block Ford. This might be an easier swap, not sure about whether you'll get the box in without trans tunnel chopage though.

Apparently, Alec Issigonis built a steam-powered Mini after he retired. Performance was said to be about the same as a Mini 850.

So much good stuff there. Does anyone know if the fade-painted Oxford is a new build or a survivor from way back? The 2CV8 is so full of win for me. Really needs a 'Dolly' or 'Charleston' paint job to really freak out the hot hatch boys though!

I'd put it on UK plates and get people wondering what it is. At some point, you'l get an old geezer come up to you and say 'I didn't know they still made these.....'
