Had my MG mot'd today which it passed ;D But i was shocked when the MOT cost £40!! and they needed my log book as all the mot's are all now recorded on computer... The new mot certificate is an a4 sized piece of paper which is a bonus as i'm less likely to misplace it but the mot guy said that he expects the average price for an mot to go upto about £60 once every garage is using the new system

This happened on my e30 after i had some work done, it wasn't until i got home i noticed two big bulges in the footwells!
Get lump of wood wrap it up with an old rag or something and then hit it with a decent size hammer from inside the car and they should go pop back into shape no problem. Mine were very easy to get rid of.

First trackday:)GavinJ

well i fitted a special edition spoiler below the front bumper ad it meant my old number plate brackets were useless and there is no where to mount it where it would look any good imho, so i need to get one that sticks on the bonnet - just need to find somewhere that sells them any ideas?
The mg was much better than i expected, being a late model with higher suspension i expected body roll to an issue but it wasn't to bad at all. But because mines a late '78 model it benefited from a rear anti roll bar which probably helped things!
I fitted some Bridgestone tyres which were spot on, the weather was mixed but they stuck to the track very well.
Engine seemed sweet the oil pressue and temperature behaved itself.
Brakes were good enough although they started to squeal when they were hot so i will look at fitting some better pads? green stuff ones maybe?
A few changes are planned for it now as i think track days are going to become a regular thing!! will be lowering it to chrome bumper height in the next month or so.

It all started on sunday when someone kindly reversed into my MG she didn't see me even though the its bright orange so i need to get that inot a bodyshop. Then i worked on the E30 and i couldn't remove the sump after undoing all 29 bolts as there is not enough clearance, so i undone the engine mounts and tried jacking it up and it didn't move! so i gave up on that so thats in bits on the drive. My Monitor on my PC went bang on Tuesday night so i have limited use of my brothers pc....so not much time to browse on here. Then today the the fuel gauge has stopped working on the MG got a track day next week so need to get it sorted. Wonder what else will happen before the weeks over?

On my mg the door mirrors have become loose and won't stay in position. I presume it's possible to tighten them up somehow? do you to remove the mirror to access a bolt or something? You can see the type of mirror in this pic, Cheers Gavin (Does anyone else think a tech section on this forum might come in handy?)
