The Nymph is going too an Imp specialist to be finished in a couple of weeks. I trust the guys who are doing it so hopefully I wont have any problems. Hope you have no problems, i got a very good impression of the blokes doing the work on mine which is why i'm really suprised at the lack of quality of there work. I don't think it would do the site much good having a thread slating certain businesses as it would just cause more problems than it's worth. I won't be naming the place that did my work as i still have buy parts from there as they are cheap and i have no alternative places to go.......so don't want to get banned from the shop so to speak! However a thread simply suggesting good places wouldn't be a bad idea!

Well i am well truly hacked off with them but i don't think it would get me anywhere going round and moaning at them. Just noticed my standard seat belts have dissapeared from the boot!! that i left in there after i fitted my harnesses Got no proof it's them but i don't where else they would have gone and the wiper stalk i paid for them to supply and fit was meant to be brand new but on closer inspection it looks 2nd hand (colours of the wires are discoloured and not nice and fresh looking like the indicator stalk i've fitted). Just goes to show you an never trust anyone, no matter how nice and genuine they seem But one good thing to come out of it is that i'm going to be making more effort to do the jobs myself, which will in turn save me loads of labour charges and i will know it's been done right!

My MG has developed a really annoying creak over the past week so i investigated it further today. It was only making the noise when pulling away, so i got my dad to put the handbrake and try pulling away, whilst i was lying on the floor looking underneath to try and listen to where it was coming from.....and to my suprise the diff was loose!! and pulling upwards..everytime i pulled away so i got in on the ramps to find the bolts attaching the rear axel to the rear spring plates loose a bolt missing from the rear anti roll bar mount and a bolt attaching the prop to the diff was loose I paid to have the diff replaced at an MG 'specialist' so i really didn't expect to find this, i have got to the stage where i don't trust anyone working on my cars anymore A quote from the website of the place that did it, 'Our technicians have many years of experience in the restoration and repair of all types of vehicles including Aston Martin, Jensen, Jaguar and MG. All these skills have been forged together to create one of the finest teams of MGB restoration specialists in the country and as such we attract work from all over the country and Europe.' My ! can't even be bothered to tighten bolts....

i had to be a member of a club, but only trouble is i'm not, so i gave the website address of retro-cars.com!! and said i was a full member on there and they said thats fine ;D Also said i had applied for membership of the mg owners club and i was waiting for the details.
Just blag it, i think as long as they can put something down they are fine, they want your money at the end of the day.

My big restriction is my age as i'm 20,
I'd give footman james a ring they under cut all other other places i tried by a good £300!
Most wanted £800-£900 and they quoted me £500.25, which may seem alot to you but its very cheap for people my age.

Trying to sort out my insurance on my MG again. I just phoned up my current insurance that i'm insuring my cab with, Elephant.co.uk They have just told me that i could not put an agreed value on the MG of £2500 and i would only get market value which would be less than £1000!!! I then said well the market value would not be less than £1000? and if you look in any price guides you would see that? but he said it does not matter and assured me they would not pay out £2500 on a 27 year old car On a good note i just got a quote for just over £500 from footman james:)

Bloody indicators!! my indicators have stopped working they were working on the way to the mot but they have stopped? took it all apart the switch is brand new so its not that, but there appears to be no power going to the stalk..... My one rear wheel needs adjusting up, but i expected that i had slackened it off as it was dragging after standing a while. And best of all he didn't charge me ;D said bring it back once you have sorted it and then i'll charge you once its passed

On the MG, it will be the first mot since i've had it, everything works and there are no nasty noises coming from anywhere so fingers crossed!
Plus the guy at the mot place said he likes mg's! so hopefully that will help.

Can't believe it two of my cars have been involved in accidents this morning:( The Bmw Cab, i left it parked on the road at my nans as i was working away on the mg on the drive, then i heard a nasty crunch and looked down the drive to see a 4x4 wedged up against the side of my car so walked down to find no-one in the 4x4!!! So had keep knock a load of doors to find out who's car it was! and i eventually found the owner who didn't put the handbrake on properly and it had rolled down the hill...... and we then had the dilemma of how we moved the car without causing more damage so we ended up bouncing my cab across To reveal amazing very little damage! some nice 4x4 tyre marks that have t-cutted out. Luckily i had parked my car with the wheels left turned and my my d/s wheel took a lot of the impact and stopped it slamming into my bodywork ;D and i've just took it have the tracking check and everythings sweet Can't believe how lucky i was, not very often you can get hit by a 4x4 and recieve next to no damage!! Then i get a call from my dad to say he has managed to scrape my Seat when he was avoiding an oncoming car not sure how bad the damage is yet....... Think i'm going to stay in for the rest of the day

The water pump has gone on my brothers e30 bmw. Had a look in the haynes and thought great, nice easy straight forward job. There is even extra threaded holes on the pump to put bolts into ease it out ;D Well after spending 3 hours on it the pumps finally off The threaded holes were useless as the pump is cast and just broke as soon as there was any pressure and it was completely stuck solid, so 3 hours later after removing the radiator so i could get in with molegrips and a hammer its finally off!! Still got to fit the new pump yet Anyone else had easy straight forward jobs turn into a nightmare?!
