whats the usual procedure, when you jack up your car using the specified jacking points, but the jacking points are in shoddy condition and you end up deforming the floor of in the areas just above the jacking points near front footwells.
totally hypothetical situation this is. i have not got bent floor in the corners of both footwells honestly.
oh who am i kidding. buggerage, stuff like this really gets up my nose:(.

I always jack cars up under the wishbones or crossmembers - I don't trust jacking points on cars older than I am! ;D

same here normally....took a beefier jack couldnt get it underneath enough to get to a crossmember. i thought that the jacking points were in good enough condition but clearly not. luckily the rear end isnt as low so i just jacked it up on the diff.
anyway onwards and upwards as they say....what do i do with the bent floor then now?

i know what would happen if i tried that, i would magically locate more rusty floor and be left with another hole in the floor.

Then attach a compressed air supply to the exhaust pipe. This will pressurise the interior of the car and pop out the damage without any damage to paint, etc. NO SWEAT

Gotta drive the curse word up on wood first though to get the jack under!!

This happened on my e30 after i had some work done, it wasn't until i got home i noticed two big bulges in the footwells!
Get lump of wood wrap it up with an old rag or something and then hit it with a decent size hammer from inside the car and they should go pop back into shape no problem. Mine were very easy to get rid of.

Silly boy. The points on a car commoonly (but erroneously) referred to as "jacking points" are in fact test points. There function is simply to allow you to test how fooked your car is come MOT time. The metal at these points is purposely left free of any form of rust protection. Come MOT time you simply raise the car at these points using the supplied testing unit (the jack). Every turn of the handle that is accomplished without raising the car will equate to a hundred pounds on the MOT bill. Simple

I managed to rip out a jacking point on my girlfriends mini, it has them in the sills instead of at the bottom. The sill were supposed to be replaced when we got it, Bullplop! Have to pay the guy a visit with a baseball bat, f*cking mini dealers!

Her mini has them built into the side of the sill, it just ripped out, so much for them being new sills
