Small claims will look at any receipt (I assume they got one?)and if it says sold as seen no warranty given or implied, trade sale no warranty etc they will not have a good case. If it doesn't and the car was 'in trade' and not registered to the vendor they may do better. If he sold it with known issues and deliberately did not disclose them (hard to prove) even a private sale can be challenged in the SCC. Caveat Emptor rules here. aiui, a dealer cannot under the law simply void the sale of goods act like that. (fit for purpose etc) hence trying to hide behind a 'private sale'......

You might want to check your lottery numbers first Couldn't find a price at first glance... What do they cost then? Are there any more manufacturers like this? More affordable ones maybe? 'Send details for a quote'.... Bumpers alone, ~£600.......

Wow these are so cool! I would happily drive a car like that to the office. Must convince Swimbo we need this for our little ones. You might want to check your lottery numbers first

Most diesels up to about 2.0 will do this so wide choice. Hell, I get that out of a 2.4 Volvo driven gently. (60 mile round trip daily, Volvo S60)
Would avoid the scene tax of VW, but anything from VAG group up to Golf sort of size would be my choice.
Put your needs into Gumtree and see what grabs your eye?

We need a section for 'appears unloved/unclean but loved & with MOT/TAX' Stickers could mean one timing belt failure and now on it's third engine Mot History says only 60 odd thousand miles, only ~2k a year as far as it goes back so possibly legit not 2nd time around. How the hell has it been driven to get through 2 engines

Had this on my S60, got away with it for 1 test, failed the next. Same garage. Go figure There is a reset function, basically wind the steering from lock to lock 5 times after ignition, MAY reset it, but didn't last on mine

When we sold our house a couple of years ago, we pretty much had to write the description for the estate agent, so if you want to emphasise the merits of the garage, you may have to do the same. You often see classified ads in the classic car magazines for "houses suitable for the car enthusiast", they tend to be top end properties but if you want to sell your house it might be worth investing a few quid in doing something similar. If the building is sound, then ripe for use as teenagers den/ office/ gym/ granny flat, god forbid it's used for cars ..... make sure it goes in the blurb.

With those criteria, the biggest issue avoid is rust, so would be looking at German or Swedish.....

when I first saw this I was jumping up and down shouting VIP Rover 827, something I've wanted to do forever. You might not have the budget for a Sterling or a Vitesse, but even an 820 would work. From what you said I was thinkng it would have to be British, but the more I think about it, maybe a Volvo or Saab could also work? Either way, vip 827s are for winners so yeah do that. First thought was an R 800 too, but now you mention the Swedes....
A Volvo 900/800 would fit the bill nicely, Anything from stock to racing colours..... No, they never took the 900 racing, but why shouldn't you?.....
Edit to add: Just stick a plastic Labrador in the back and you're good to go

This page is filled with fun ideas! So. Hypothetically speaking, what would be MOST distracting in that paddock? So far we have Mosque, Campsite and Car meet/storage. How about something like Asbestos-contaminated waste, storage facility? Add some Banger racing for added fun

Quite a collection! Here in the UK, those German cars would probably all get either rescued or cannibalised for parts, within weeks of them being left. The Espace did well to make it to over 500,000 km - over 300,000 miles. Of course, the body won't rust, at least! A friend's dad had one new in the same colour, back in the late 1980s. Seems odd o me that a 205 gets the barn, while porsches, mercs and all are left to rot in the fields

You're brave admitting that I know the reputation, but I take pride in doing my job properly, not launching parcels on your roof or driving straight past your house or whatever. Don't try to tell us you've not thought about it though

i fitted and extra (direct but fused) 12v socket to swmbo's bongo so we could run a charge panel we were given as the factory ones are ignition controlled....then it sat in the glove box unused as we always forgot to pull it out. they are a good idea though. Was contemplating simlar for the student sons car (07 Clio), someone suggested using the OBD port wich has a constant live feed. Just need to source a connector......

Of course the question isn't 'What car to take?' more 'Why not the Jag?'....

Is the other half tolerant of your hobby? If not, it's a long time in the car.... Use it to run the Jag in

That pic does make the TT look large, is it really that small or just the camera angle? Curious what the sort of attitude other drivers have towards the Porsche on home turf, in the UK it can be a bit confrontational.....
