As with my other for sale thread for my Alfa I’m having a clear out of a few project that I never get time for, just like the Alfa this is one of them that if it sells it sells if not I’ll keep it so I’m no rush or desperate for the money. It’s also on eBay and Facebook for more monies but to cut to the chase and to save all the “best price” questions I want £1500 for it firm. No negotiation on that price. Better description is on eBay but it’s a 92 phase 1 Clio 1.8 16v, road legal with 11 months mot left, 110k miles, pretty much standard apart from being lowered on apex suspension, polybushed lower engine mount and vibratechnics top mount. Solid as a rock underneath and no advisories for any structural rust. Bodywork does need a bit of tlc, some marks and scratches here and there, one rear wheel arch is bubbling with rust. I’ve recently had the bonnet and front bumper professionally repainted due to stone chips and damage. Interior again is good and original apart from the stereo. Runs and drives well, exhaust needs realigning as it knocks on the floor pan on bumpy roads but other than that all seams well. Overall a good solid base that just needs a few weekends sorting a few niggliy bits out.

Just wondering if anyone would be interested in my Alfa. I bought it over a year ago to add to my line of other projects I struggle to get time for so I’m having a clear out. It’s one of them cases that if it sells it sells, if it doesn’t I’ll get it sorted one day. Alfa 145 cloverleaf 2.0. The body and paintwork is in very good condition for its age, needs a good wash and detail as it’s been sitting for a couple of years but underneath the grime it’s great. Interior again is in good shape, no wear on the seats etc and all original. Runs and drives well all feels solid with no knocks or rattles in drive, idles a little high but probably only because it’s been off the road for a while, I still run it up to temp now and again to keep things moving. Stacks of history with it including around 3 timing belt changes in its life if I remember correctly. Has been well looked after in its past. What I know it definitely needs is a small patch welded on the drivers floor near the front and the same at the rear jacking point. I’ve already cut the rot out of the front section but that’s as far as I got. It’s about a 5x2 inch plate, metal is solid around it. Passenger side is solid. No other structural advisories in last mot so can’t see it needing much. Roof lining has also sagged at the rear. Could be driven home if you wanted to but obviously has no mot or tax. £595ono located in Tamworth, staffs

Can't remember who made this, not marked on the car anywhere but it's too cool not to include. I had one too, pretty sure it was Ertl

The chavette hasn’t been taxed since 1991! How has it not dissolved into the ground.
205 has only just come off the road this year.

To be fair to him he has a point, it is quick, as with most modern diesels but that’s not what it’s all about. He just doesn’t “get it”

I keep having this argument with a mate who keeps telling me his diesel Astra would wipe the floor with any of my retro hatches. I’m sick of telling him it’s not all about straight line speed, it’s the fun you have whilst doing it that counts.

Trap moisture too so will probably rust quicker than leaving it open to the elements

That ital dashboard brings back so many memories for me. My dad owned an ital van in the late 80’s, i was only around 4 at the time but seeing your pics brings it all back.

Copart was good some years back, but everything just seams to get bidded way above what’s its worth now by the Eastern Europeans exporting them back home.

I have done the spark plug test by arcing it on the cam cover and the spark was good and constant.

Ok so it’s not strictly retro being an 06 but as this is one of the only car forums on I’m somebody may be able to help.
I have an 06 Alfa Romeo GT 2.0 Petrol. I’ve got a constant misfire on cylinder 3. I’ve done all the usual checks, swapped coil pack and plugs with another cylinder but misfire stays on cylinder 3. Plug is wet when removed and exhaust smells of unburnt fuel so I’m guessing it’s not an injector issue, tested c3 coil pack and it’s giving a good spark and lastly did a compression test which showed good matching results on all four cylinders.
So it seams to have everything a petrol engine needs, fuel, spark and compression yet still not firing on cylinder 3.
Any idea’s?
